thanks , i got a problem with second playback monitor . . i resinstalled windows and installed adobe premiere pro . . when i drag my preview screen to second screen and press fullscreen it covers almost both screens. . is there a way to lock it full screen and not go bigger than my screen ?

That's strange, not sure what is causing that, I would start by checking your windows display settings and see if the second monitor is set to "Extend these displays" and see if changing the Scale setting for the second monitor helps fix it. Sorry I can't be of more help.

@@JasonRobertsVideo it´s fixt now , by adobe community , better not drag the screen to other monitor , had to go to preferences/playback enable mercury transmit and select video screen second monitor ( video stream )

Hi, when ever I try to add tabs to my second monitor, my main monitor will not show full screen playback only 1/4 of the video on the top right corner, but when I add all tabs to my main monitor, now it works properly, do you think is has something to do with my my monitors being different resolution?

Hi Cristian - my monitors are different resolutions and I still get full screen playback - you could try making sure your graphics drivers are up to date and see if that helps.

Thanks :) That sound a bit weird but you could try turning off the "Disable video output when in the background" but that should be causing what you are describing.

I just get problems dragging stuff on my 2nd monitor. This was explained to me by "support" (i.e. another user) that Premiere somehow thinks in pixel dimensions, not second monitors,or so and doesn't handle second monitors well. I can only use it for playback.

@@JasonRobertsVideo latest everything (Quadro studio driver). For example, in the FX panel, it says "no clip selected", though it's clearly selected. Or the playhead doesn't move, even though the sequence is playing back. I looked into the thread, and somebody said it's because Premiere - for iits interface! - doesn't recognize monitors as such, it thinks in pixel coordinates. No idea if that's the case and why any other piece of software I use has no problems with that, but frankly, Adobe CS is so inconstistent within itself (AE performs completely differently, for example, and you can click drag footage in the program monitor instead of messing with coordinates); or PS/AI path tools etc etc) I wouldn't wonder if things were programmed completely differently. But, on a sidenode, I love your channel! I used PP last in CS4 times, so it's nice to get everything refreshed by a guy you can relate to 🙂

After I updated my nVidia driver, Premiere is backwards--when the application window is minimized, Monitor 2 displays video. When I restore the Premiere app window, Monitor 2 goes to wallpaper after 2 seconds. It's so annoying. Sometimes in the past, I could toggle "Adobe DV" and it would restore video on the second monitor. But that's not working now. I think this also happened a year or so ago and the fix was to reload an earlier system image from when everything worked, but then I was running old drivers by doing that.

That's annoying :( I would disable second monitor output and make sure it works one one screen. Then re-enable second screen. You could also try re-installing/updating premiere pro and see if that helps.

@@JasonRobertsVideo I deleted the preferences file and restarted Premiere. Apparently the preferences somehow got corrupted when it launched after the new nVidia driver. Odd too was that Premiere kept launching in quarter window size on the desktop despite my adjusting it to most of my screen several times.

Do you have a recommendation on which HDMI hub to a dual monitor to buy? I want to making sure I buy the right one, see a lot that says splitter but none that says works with a Dual Monitor setup with Adobe Premiere Pro. Amazon link would be awesome.

Hi Douglas, sorry I don't have a recommendation as I don't use one, I'm now using a graphics card that has multiple output ports that I wire directly to each monitor. @@JasonRobertsVideo it is weird! i'm using Mac by the way. There is no issue when I use the side car app to make my iPad an extra monitor. But when I tried using a standard monitor, it won't just work. I can drag the timeline panel to the external monitor but I can't drag any assets on it.

Sounds like a possible Premiere bug - you could always ask the question on the Adobe forum and see if there is a workaround.
