There's already a keyboard shortcut for the blade. Ctrl+B (Win), Command+B (Mac). It splits on the played position. Razor is similar but cuts at the mouse pointer. Replace "B" with "\" in the shortcut.

The biggest challenge for me is the Color page. After watching a few videos the color tools are not as intimidating as they appear to be. Fusion, on the other hand, can get complicated doing on what you are doing in that page.
@kevinkenell2 жыл бұрын
Yeah I don't know how I feel about Fusion yet. Simple things are made complicated. Think I'll stick with After Effects for now.👀

That's all well and good but on the first day with resolve I tried to rearrange the Workspace across three screens and I hit a brick wall. Resolve may or may not be better than Premiere but it's badly architected and has shaky foundations.

@@kevinkenell I just edited out a small 30sec project after I updated all the macro features on my Logitech mx master 2s and I found the gui better in Resolve. I'm going to bow buy it but do you recommend Dongle or the license key. I'll probably pick up the speed editor with it when they bundle them together. I can't seem to find a kicense key bundle. They all appear to come with the dongle which makes me nervous if I lose the dongle. Thoughts?

I switched to resolve to mainly make AMVs and I love it, I like the separate cut section, the program only crashed on me once and that is because me doing stupid stuff and I didn’t even lost changes I made before it crashes if that happens with Premiere/Ae that hour I spent will be lost forever, and playback on my M1 Pro MacBook is super smooth even with a lot of fusion effect and CPU rendering not sure who to praise Blackmagic or Apple, they both did a great job bringing great quality hardware/software to the market

In Hollywood industry, Davinci is still unpopular or they use both?
@kevinkenell2 жыл бұрын
I'm actually not sure, I think it's still very scattered but that Davinci is more the standard for color grading rather than cutting/editing.
@hruettimann2 жыл бұрын
I would say Hollywood is still mostly Media Composer for video editing. But for color grading Resolve is the most common software choice, Baselight the second probably. Audio post (sound design, dialogue editing, mixing, mastering) is usually done on a Pro Tools system.

@2424rocket2 жыл бұрын
@@afhdf9010 really? I’m hurting people by telling them the truth. I think I’ll get a T-shirt with the word insufferable on it. A complement never made anybody better, but a criticism can. Although I really have no idea what you’re talking about.
@afhdf90102 жыл бұрын
@@2424rocket if you weren't so emotionally charged over my comment, you would have seen that I asked who hurt you, nothing about you hurting people. You said in your original comment that the title is bad and you don't like it, so you're not going to even start the video, you're only going leave a petty comment which provides value to no one, not even yourself. Did you genuinely think your condescending "critism" regarding the title to a video you didn't even watch was useful, interesting or warranted? And I told you to break the cycle and asked about who hurt you because only a hurt person with self destructive patterns and thoughts would take the time to write a comment like yours. I wish you the best brother, only you can be honest with yourself about what you need to change and let go of. Good luck on your journey, it appears you have a long way to go, but I believe you can find the strength within yourself to overcome your situation.
