You know it's nice to see very affordable gear on stage, you don't see this very often anymore.

right on man i started out with the peavey bass head with 2 x 15 with big casters chrome rollers that only worked when they wanted to, brand new in 75 till 81...

It doesn't take a lot of money to sound good. It takes a lot of practice, lol. I use Peavey amps and hot rodded cheap guitars all the time. Its great stuff.

This has got to be the most unimpressive rig rundown ever.... And THAT'S what makes it awesome. Gear is just tools to make music. An expensive hammer does not build a better house.

That second switch on the Lead II is supposed to be a phase switch (so it only affects the tone when both pickups are on). It's possible that it was converted into a kill switch or that someone messed around inside and screwed up the wiring.

Eric Giese it’s also possible dude doesn’t have any idea what it does. All of the guys in this band seem very uninformed about their gear. There’s “I use whatever because it works” but these guys seem like they don’t even care, they’re just “Whatever.” I take pride in my gear & my tone. Before anybody says it yes I checked them out & no I didn’t care for them.
@audioman6127 жыл бұрын
I've seen them live a few times. They're a fun band. I'm the same way about knowing everything about gear (not just musical), but at the end of the day, if someone is happy with their setup, that's all that really matters. Part of me wishes that everyone knew a ton about their equipment and was really picky about it, but at the same time, if that were the case, there's tons of great punk, low-fi, etc. albums that wouldn't exist.

It's all good. At least these boys didn't pull out some computer amp and axe fx. It's fun to see what gear the smaller bands bring on the road. Honestly, I haven't even heard of most of the popular bands they run down here. Now, If they could just get King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard then shit would be bananas.

Or maybe they are kids in their mid 20s not used to or into this sort of thing? They are being interviewed about gear and they clearly arent obsessive gear heads.

@dinewithacannibal7 жыл бұрын
Unlike a lot of gear heads, these guys focus on making music and performing an energetic show. If you were in your mid 20s playing in a rock and roll band, youre not going to be bringing marshall stacks, 15 vintage guitars to switch for each song, and a pedal board that is overkill. I think its refreshing to hear things like still playing the first guitar you got or now being able to fit a certain amp because you can finally afford a bigger van for the tour. Watching guitar techs for famous musicians give you gear porn gets old real quick.
