I can assure anyone unable to actually find one to test that this is the bass you should buy. If I have to find a flaw the last 4 frets on the E string yeild 8/10 results, good and what you would expect in its moderate price range. The rest of the neck is mind blowing to be honest. You will not find anything on par with this bass at your local music store. Plays far better than the semi botique basses from zon and modulus at a fraction of the price.

Did the recently deceased Jim Rodford (the Kinks, the Zombies) own an edition of this particular model?

Agree with some of the more snarky comments below. But I think - by and large - both these new Radius WAV and the older CR series are supposed to be in that "acoustic" league, or upright leage. I e I think with that piezo thing going on, these basses forte are - only - when they come in fretless variants with flatwounds on. So no "rickenbacker" growl or and muddy, gristle timbre no matter how much you lean in. Super clean EMG, and piezo on top of that, all you get is treble, high end zzzzing. These doesn't work that will as fast as you try to add some Tube grit or mild distortion to it. HIgh freq pickups (all, not piezo) sounds s**te with distortion. Also, this dual radius seems to be from top to bottom. It ought to be radiused AROUND the body too, from left to right. That the upper horn turns away into under your fretting hand, almost following your ribs, and to the right, the lower bout of the body should end up "under your elbow" so to speak. That would be dual radius to me. Klein did a K-bass once (headless) that followed both principles. Steinberger hardware. Nice showing that it doesn't neck dive, (no headless does) but how about a "fret-for-fret" playing and let us listen after those pesky DEAD SPOTS? This has a one piece maple neck, and bolt on (not carbon fibre core as in the more expensive CR series) so I have my suspicions. I e this version of the bass, should first and foremost come in fretless versions. They are a bit too niched to be played in a variety of musical styles other than those "super clean" genres. Almost lends itself to new agey things only.

worst position to put a pick up on a bass and you can hear it I wish they moved it closer to the bridge to get the musicman sound or closer to the neck so it could get the P bass.

I wanted to know the great difference between the CR Bass vs the Wav Bass. And as my main thing is slapping, tapping, I wanted to hear that technique badly. I just broke down and ordered a CR today, but really wanted a Burl or spalted top. I've been into the XL's (8 of them), but these days at the prices they go for, I wish I kept mine. I will post my Slap and semi review on the CR, very Soon.
How about a blues in G and stay below the 6th fret?

1/ I’m thinking, replace the bridge aluminium saddle with a wood insert. Then put proper strings (flats) on. = change from hifi guitar to warm bass sound. 2/ I would pay more for a nice natural finish. Not a silly figured veneer but plain natural wood. Why are all basses made in girl colours these days?

there should be a fretless version. the Radius CR5 fretless is incredible but costs almost £2000. i don't doubt that it's worth it though. at around £850 this one is a lot more affordable. Ned is the man! still way ahead of the game.

Nice low-sounding guitar. Does it also do bass? Next time demo some standard blues and rock riffs down in the 'money end' of the neck? Not every bass player needs or wants to play Michael Manring-style jazz-pop music.

Steinberger was innovating headless "basses" and composite bodies since the 70's. A leader and innovator.

orriol bohigas What? Calm down and don't take it personally. The basses sound amazing, I was just noting that the prices are too steep for me. Side note; your punctuation is terrible. I really hope you're still in middle-school.
