Jack Tuttle is an excellent teacher ! ! ! You have skill and talent on many levels and several instruments from the videos I've watched. It is apparent that you very much enjoy the thousands of venues and songs in your short years. Don't stop giving your love of the instruments and singing. You and the family and friends do excellent!

At first I thought I had the wrong video, with that Marshall intro where the levels were all distorted and it sounded awful. Mercifully it ended and the video about Molly began. She's an amazing talent!

I, too, am hooked on Angeline the Baker. From the first time I heard it, I’ve been madly in love with it. Thanks for this, you me, very special piece of music. This was beautifully preformed, presenting the great talent you have and the simple beauty of Angeline the Baker. Thank you, for preforming this - my favourite song.

Molly made me change my picking from open-hand, holding the pick with finger tips to close-handed, using the index finger's side, similar to hers; That was 2 years ago, and it was a long, hard, but totally worthy period of dedication; Her dad must be the proudest man, because her picking is Robert Fripp level! Greetings from Brazil

I met Molly a couple of times in the Twin Cities. Most recently was after her show at the Dakota in Minneapolis. The most memorable was before and after she and her dad played on Garrison Keillor’s, A Prarie Home Companion when she was a fairly shy teenager. Her dad was great to talk to but she was pretty quite. But put a guitar in her hand and her personality blossomed in front of my eyes. She’s come a long way in the last decade. I love her playing of course, but she’s also been a fine writer since she was a teenager.

I am a bit confused. This song is usually played in Bluegrass jams in the key of A... so does she play it in A and adding the dropped D bass string into the song or is she transposing into D. Playing it in D will throw off a lot of jammers

How does the open D work with the B chord as she said ?
@kaneharrell4 жыл бұрын
The tune is just in D (with an occasional bar of G), so I think she’s just talking about the B-part of the song, not a B chord, since the tune is in an AABB format.

She plays bluegrass man, are you disappointed she isn’t slapping and tapping on an 8 string or something?
@fenderjag1144 жыл бұрын
That's completely ridiculous. She's a monster at traditional bluegrass flatpicking. She has developed a unique style of clawhammer guitar playing, which almost nobody else does. She's good at fingerstyle. She's a fine singer-songwriter. She played punk rock in her high-school band (check out her acoustic cover of Rancid's "Olympia Washington"). She went to Berklee, so I suspect she could even bust a few jazz moves if she wanted to. Just how many more "tricks" do you want?
