May Billy Cox lead a long and happy life. Such a humble, nice man. He was a rock of sanity and stability for Jimi, and his sound was as solid as it got back in the day. Jimi with Billy and Mitch was my favourite combo. Billy anchoring it all together.

Doug, first of all, I want to apologize for that less than enthusiastic show you guys had to endure in Hampton a couple years ago. This video is why I moved heaven and earth to be there that night. Your history coupled with being in the presence of Billy Cox?!!! Incredible!!! And you gave him ALL the credit he deserved!! I treasure this!!!

I randomly happened to see Doug live with Tarja Turunen in Zürich. I don't care much for her music, and he totally stole the show with some huge freaky bass solos from time to time. Absolute legened.

He's better at soundscapes than most guitarists that *only* do ambient textures....while also being a tasty bassist.

That's a lot. My guess Mr. Cox still likes to keep things simple. Fingers, bass (J or P) and a good amp. The only pedal I use is a Broughton SV-PRE JFET preamp. Not judging, I just can't image using a pedal setup like that. I'm too ADD for that.
