The Leopard 2 (PzBtl 123) in War Thunder is a Premium Tank for the German Tech Tree. This is now the highest battle rating premium tank for Germany.
Essentially the Leopard 2 PzBtl 123 is a Leopard 2A4 with a camo net and a big log! Of course you will have Premium Bonus for using this vehicle in battles but it's not the best vehicle in the German Tech tree for grinding.
At Battle Rating 10.0 the Premium Leo 2A4 can face 11.0 where it's been powercreeped quite drastically. Against 10.0 and lower, it's a great vehicle. Able to deal with most threats frontally. However, at 10.3 more MBT's with stronger composites start to show up and the DM23 round will start to struggle.
On the flip side at the same Rank there is the Leopard A1A1 L/44 at 9.0 with DM13 that will only face 10.0 which it can deal with no problem at all. The L/44 even has double the Silver Lion bonus and the same RP bonus making it a much easier and more capable grinder.
I don't think this vehicle is worth it as a result! Unless you like the Leo 2A4 or a camo net! :)

the premium leopard actually has lion modifier of 435% with premium and rp modifier of 678% with premium. the reason it was so low for odd was that test drive vehicles get a lower lion modifier on purpose so you dont get too much money.

Hopefully this is a testbed for camo nets, because i find the bushes GARBAGE as camo (ill see a bush covered tank before a naked one), but having a dynamic camo net that changes its model depending on where you place it, so it wraps around your barrel, or drapes over your vehicles contours etc would be something i would GLADY pay eagles for, no cap.

These show up in Thermals like a light becon. The regular stick on ones are WAY worse than this. At least the camo nets are more visually appealing than some giant floating low res sprite floating about! lol

once i was playing with grafics drives slow downs, and in this scenario i noticed that the PUMA was unplayable compared to other tanks, certanly this type of details do impact in performance but probably is only noticible in low spec PCs

Nice to see you're only getting the same 3 maps no matter what BR you play as well odd. Obviously having a rolling map list that goes through all of them in a semi random fashion throughout the day is too hard to figure out. Another great and highly enjoyable video as always though Odd!

This, there are over 150 map variations for ground battles not even counting spawn sides. There is indeed no reason you should see only the same handfull of maps with the same mode over and over. What's the average game time? AB 10-15 minutes max, RB 20-30 minutes max? 150 maps it should be possible to play 40 hours straight and not see the same map and mode more then once.

I used the ole trusty 9.0 Leo to grind the tech tree and I enjoyed it a lot. Definitely not a brawler but after you get used to her it’s a great tank. I love my 2a4 and would like to add this to my lineup. But being brand new and jumping right to the 2a4 is not going to be fun for the new players. (And the vets) 😂

I'm glad I'm not the only one suddenly seeing that version of El Alamein a lot. Played a lot of 5.7 and 6.3 Germany today, and saw it a few times, twice I got it two in a row. I actually really like it with three-cap, it's incredibly fun. Using dunes as cover, weaving in between them to stay hidden, lots of open sight lines and enough cover to not be exposed.

I’m enjoying it. The caps are pretty close so you can clutch games. The enemy spawn in this video is easily camped, though. Would be better with 2 spawns each!

@@OddBawZ Yeah, I agree. The single middle spawn on the north west side is bad to be in if the other team takes a couple key positions. The hill overlooking B from that side has perfectly covered areas looking right at it, and people tend to gather there.

I used to play Armored Warfare, and thought that I would enjoy the American tech tree, worked my way to near the top Abrams and was pretty happy. Then I decided to try the German tech tree.....And while the Leopard tanks started out with paper armor and did improve......THAT MOBILITY!!!! I understand the doctrine of "Speed is armor".

I've been having problems because for some reason warthunder only runs in 32 bit but my computer is 64. normally it's fine but 32 can only address so much memory so after a few games it ends up running out and input lag goes to the moon then it crashes. launching it from 64 aces doesn't work so idk what to do.

Odd! I'm interested in your take on the Challenger DS. My Harrier Gr1 was feeling pretty lonely as my grind through the Brit tech tree had stagnated about half way (God what a nasty grind). My Gr1 had no stable-mate. I'm glad I picked up the Challenger DS as my grind through the Brit tech tree has started back up and is at leas progressing and I'm having a bit of fun with the Harrier Gr1 now too.
