To my ears these 3rd Gen Air pods are more comfortable compared to the newer Pro version with the soft gel tips. kzbin.infoUgkxgl8SzyQoymMu-S3V55Dskg5QJ8xr1yCR That said, compared to the 3rd Gen, I notice these do not stay planted in the ear as well. One design issue I think, is you squeeze the stem and click it twice to advance your songs. On 3rd gen you tap the large speaker. The difference is by grabbing the stem each time, you tend to loosen the bud fit in your ear. Not always, but the bud falls out a few times while running. The old tap to change never had that problem for me. I would not have changed that tap function. That said, the newer Pro version sticks in the ear, almost airtight if you want that. I do not like that Airtight fit. So that's why I'd stay with this version as the best trade off of comfort, use, and overall feel.

The just chat feature on the M4's is actually incredible. Days of commuting, walking, gym, supermarket I don't take them out and have conversations fine with them, especially good while wearing a mask as I found my old ones would move about taking a mask on and off. Which means more pulling them in and out, so you readjust them after mask, then someone speaks to you so you pull them out etc etc, M4's just sit there with no need to come out. Only issue is if I start humming along to a song it thinks I am talking....

Nice review, thank you! I am using my Apple AirPods and AirPods Pro for earbuds and just added the KZ SKS and loving it, especially when it’s Onky SGD 30+. For ether sounds, headphones still work better, am still using my old Sony WH-1000XM2 and Philips Fidelio X1S. Looking to add the Hifiman Sundara or Sennheiser HD650 (wants to hear what Planars are like) but missed out on the 7.7 sale when I went to bed too early so I’ll wait for the the next sale. Just noticed you did a review of Hifiman 400, will check it out.

Thanks for watching! In your case, I think you'd have to see what you value. Are you looking for something that has the best sound quality? Because if so, the Gemini wins hands down. But if you have an iPad/mac computer/etc and you want convenience and fast pairing/switching, the AirPods Pro definitely would be better. ANC-wise, I'd say the AirPods Pro is slightly better than the Gemini too :)

I got the Devialet’s for Father’s Day and liked them right away. My initial concern was a bit of harshness in the treble. After a couple days this completely disappeared and I fell in love with them. Perhaps it took a few days to get the fit exactly right or the silicone tips finally broke in, because in my experience, harshness isn’t something that “goes away”. I wouldn’t say they are as good as my Phantoms but for a wireless earbud I’m pleasantly in shock ever time I listen.

Very thorough and comprehensive review of these in ear TWS. I have the AirPods Pro, the B&W Pi7s, the Sony WF1000 XM4s and the Galaxy Buds Pro. My own conclusions completely align with your own. Pi7s have near audiophile sound quality (without getting into can it be audiophile if it’s Bluetooth). The Sony’s are excellent all arounders with best in class ANC The AirPod Pros and G Buds Pro are really good if you are deep into those eco-systems. New Sub Cheers

Hello! You can definitely EQ the XM4 in the app, and I personally like the Bright preset a lot, but the PI7 still presents better clarity than the XM4. If you're happy with the Sony sound though, you really can't go wrong with the XM4.

Pretty big. The B&W PI7 is much more detailed, energetic and the soundstage is wider while layering of instruments is better. The major advantages the AirPods Pro have are really just the ANC as well as the convenient pairing with Apple devices.

If it's difficult to do all 4, my preference would be Sony vs Nuheara. Thanks so much. Features important to me are battery life, functionality, anc, weight, not heavy on bass, good eq, range from phone, and extra bud options. I'm autisitic/adhd with sensory processing issues and love Nuheara’s marketing around this (I feel seen), BUT does this mean they're savvy where Sony haven't been, or that their tech is indeed very different to anything else out there? Helpful comparison. Leaning towards the devialet just because the pi7 looks ridiculous and chunky. Also, wanted to ask if we can use 1 earbud at a time for the devialet? since the sennheiser only works when the right one is out of the case.

Heya, I just tested it out, and while you CAN use just the left earbud, the case has to be open with the right earbud in. Once you close the case, the left earbud will disconnect. Right side works perfectly fine and you can close the case with the left earbud in. Also, yes, the Gemini sits wayyyy better in my ear than the PI7. Definitely more comfortable!

I actually left these flat because I really enjoyed the sound out of the box! Most of the time, I'd tend to tweak the highs just a bit upwards because I prefer more sparkle in the highs :) Glad to hear you're not experiencing any issues with the Gemini! Enjoy them, they're really good :)

Hello! I actually found it comfortable about 95% of the time, on medium tips. The other 5% was when I was wearing it for longer periods, maybe around 4-5 hours, and wearing fatigue started to kick in. For bus rides and such, no problems!

Thanks for watching! I'd say the sound signature is pretty different, in that Sony's is more bass-inclined while Sennheiser and Devialet are more balanced. That being said, the Gemini has better clarity and accuracy for sure, so if you're rating Sony and Sennheiser a 5, I'd say the Devialet is around a 7 on your scale.

I can't decide which to get for. I feel ilke treble is better on pi7 with more definition and cleaner, and vocals are clsoer, middles are neck to neck and bass goes deeper and slightly cleaner on gemini. All things considered, I think the Gemini has the edge in a few areas like battery life and such. Sound quality-wise, they're both really good, but you're pretty much right on their differences. I do get a bit more energy in the highs with the PI7. Soundstage wise, I think they're pretty much equal. Really depends on what you prefer, whether you like more bass, if you need a longer battery life for commutes, etc.

@@Audiofied Thanks for the reply! It really helps a lot. These buds both sounds impressive to me and surely I would pick on of them and they're the only considerations for me atm. I do love how the vocal sounds clsoer on the PI7 with slightly more relaxed sound, but gemini on the other hand provides cleaner and deeper(not richer but they goes lower) bass with $100 less which is amazing. During my listen on the retailer shop, b&w seems better on connection stabality but battery drains faster, and right ear seems drains even faster than left ear which I think both b&w and divalet should work on. So ...thanks again.

Gemini I found that the NC was above the Sony, especially with the higher frequencies that it can cancel out. Kids can watch their shows and I hear almost nothing. Don't underestimate the high frequency reduction. I only returned mine due to the longer lag when watching videos and the initial problems with them connecting to my phone even when in the charging case. I missed phone calls and the battery was dead when I wanted to use them. I believe they fixed that I will probably try out their second generation if/when they bring it out.

Thank you for informative review. I cannot decide between Sony and Devialet. Haven’t heard them. I am not in love with the sound of B&W Pi7 which is lacking mids especially for male vocals, but has punchy and very deep bass what I really like… otherwise their sound is nothing special for my ears. Maybe superior Sony’s ANC is worth trying hoping for good sound :)

If you like really impactful bass, Sony is definitely the way to go ! There are plenty of EQ presets in the app so you can really tweak it to your liking too.

I love the Galaxy Buds Pro, but the touch controls are too easily activated. Other than that, they are excellent when fitted with the more sticky Azla Crystal oval tips.

Yup, the touch sensitive area is too large, although I think the side taps to control volume is a nifty feature!

Can you review earbuds for really small ears? I have extremely small ear canals so I tend to need earbuds that basically lay flat against my ears without a bud on them.

Hello! That's a really tough category. Have you tried the Earin A-3? Those are really small. I'm also trying a new earbud from 1MORE right now, but they're touted more for sleeping with than critical listening. They're super comfy though, I can sleep on my side with them in with no issues at all. Stay tuned for that review!

Hello, not sure which earbuds you're referring to specifically here and which phone you're using, but if you're using an iPhone, the walkman would probably be the better option since you can get aptX and LDAC from it instead of AAC from the iPhone. If you're planning on using a PC and DAC, you might want to search for one that has Bluetooth capabilities and can support aptX

@@Audiofied i have a Google pixel 6 pro but i want a better audio experience so i bought a walkman and testing with powerbeats pro. i downloaded tidal and both hifi master quality and regular basic non hifi was the same quality. i figure i need a hi res earbuds i was thinking Sony xm4 or bowers Wilkins.

@@callejamiguel94 Well, I'd say you can't go wrong with either, but the Bowers & Wilkins PI7 definitely has better sound quality than the XM4. That being said, the XM4 has LDAC, better ANC and better battery life!

Thanks for watching! Wouldn't have been a very fair comparison as these aren't sports earbuds, and the features on the T5 II McLaren are very exercise driven. Just the IP rating on those would beat all of these hands down. Perhaps if I ever do a exercise earbud comparison :)

Dang, I paid 200 dollars retail for my Samsung bud Pros at BestBuy just 2 or 3 months ago. I think I used em 2 times so far. After watching this, I want to at least try the Sonys.
