Premium Economy During COVID-19? Cathay Pacific Airbus A350-1000 Review | Zurich 🇨🇭 - Hong Kong 🇭🇰

It is truly unprecedented times in the aviation industry and indeed the world, and I wouldn't have flown if it was unnecessary, but I travelled on Cathay's premium economy on its Airbus A350-1000 aircraft from Zurich to Hong Kong during the peak of the coronavirus outbreak in Europe in late March 2020. It was a truly unique experience, and one I hope I won't have to go through again (wearing a mask for 11 hours sucks, as well as spending 14 days in mandatory quarantine).
My flight was the final one before it was cut due to drastic service reductions by CX to preserve its assets due to the virus. As of June 2020, Cathay has not resumed service to Zurich and are only gradually increasing flights to its network. It may be a while before CX returns to ZRH.

Glad to see this video and some of my colleague ground staff. :-) I'll share the video with them, they surely will be happy. As of right now, it looks like CX will resume services to ZRH by August or September. But nothing's confirmed yet. Hope to see you on board soon on our ZRH bound and ex ZRH flights. Cheers

Thanks for an awesome video! My last time travelling during the pandemic was on British Airways A350-1000 from London to Toronto in March, and I was surprised that none of the crew were wearing face masks or gloves. Despite that, BA still delivered an excellent service and provided a much better product than CX. I was also upgraded to premium economy the last minute by the gate agent free of charge, probably because of the full economy cabin and they needed extra seats there.

If every passenger is required to wear face-covering mask, and so many other rules and restrictions has been implemented, and the crew even have more protective gear. Why can't the meal service at least remain unchanged? What good or bad will it make if you can choose your meal. How about for those who booked an expensive Business Class or even First, they also get a reduced service with no choices?. I understand the severity of the virus. Of course. But I have a hard time understanding how a reduced service onboard would help to stop it

There shouldn't have a dedicated lavatory for Premium Economy on A350 of Cathay as they share lavatories with Economy class...

Only on the A350 1000. If you pay three times the regular economy fare then i dont see why the PE cabin should not have their own lavatory as they are not permitted to use the business class lavatory.

@@twobins2060 agreed. Flown several times from YVR-TPE-BKK via China Air's A350-900 and they do have dedicated lavatory for PE class.
