The issue is more that Russia is getting more broken and under-br'd shit it doesn't need. The national that need shit aren't getting anything good or anything at all. For instance USA is supposedly finally getting another SPAA, only problem is that it's complete dogshit for it out of the box and they're probably not going to give the 40mm ammo that pens more to it so it can at least fight tanks. It's just a shittier M42. They're also getting a helicopter that should've been a premium and a premium plane with missing ordnance and shit ordinance.

Russia gets another Shilka but with Iglas, which is similar to the Gepard 1A2 and will fill the gap between the original Shilka and the Strela-10M2

The price tracks with the previous patterns (generally, higher tier premium = higher cost) there are exceptions like the M26 T99 and M4 Calliope, but that doesn't disprove the general rule. I can’t believe that I am saying this but … Learn from siege, the newest operator is the same price but the older the character the less it costs (I know other games have this system but siege is my next most played game) So: the top tier premiums will stay 70$ Sure if you want to make players pay to jump the ladder fine, it’s part of the trade But after they no longer are the higher tiers drop their price, and as it goes on make it cheaper instead of progressively making them more expensive and turning people away from buying them

I play on xbox (Hungary).I bought the F4U pack for around 15$ got to tier 5 from there i grinded out the A7-D and F105D (used both in SB) ans bought talisman for the A7 on a 50% sale (GE is cheap here 1Huf=1GE so the talisman was around for 3-4 bucks) later i did the same with the F4E (played with it in SB only) and i almost finished the entire U.S aviation tree. Only the F14A&B F16ADF/C left. 3 month of premium for me (non sale price) is 14 bucks. Only premium i bought for a full price was the Su25K. Because one of my favourite planes 😂 And the other of my 11.3 premium is the Mirage F1C-200.Bought it for around 30bucks. Reached tier 7 since (i don't play much and only in SB). No regrets so far.

So - here's the thing about 'Experimental planes being in the tech tree'. I agree there should be no top tier premiums, maybe a copy paste a couple years after a new rank is introduced, and that the pricing is all wrong - even if it's not as bad as the pricing players have for certain vehicles (that Gajin should really have new events for another shot for). But, other than maybe a plane or two I'm not as familiar with out of the Russian tech tree or that's more modern in others - there are no experimental planes in the tech tree. I'll be the first to say that especially with some more recent changes they've made it jank AF - but the tech tree's are the technological progression of that nation and type/branch of planes. While some of these may have seen a highly limited production or had things used in further designs - they are essentially dead branches that went no where and don't fit in - like the XP-50 and XF5F which I love. That said, especially for pre-jet era planes (so this game is I think basically 20's- maybe 50's) - I 100% agree that a lot of these unique planes should be available to players without a paywall either in events or as premiums you can get from the Warbonds shop, and that events for them should cycle back through so players that miss them for any reason can get another shot/first shot and to maybe help their in-game economy to bring down prices people try and sell things for (cause some things players are trying to sell for 400+ dollars in the marketplace) and actually make it functional. There's a few I think that can no longer be seen/obtained that should probably come back as well. Before I took an extended break and now even after - I've been saying I want my 'Flapjack of Doom' aka the XF5U - both the 6x .50 and 4x 20mm proposals for armament, because it just looks cool, is unique, and likely America's answer in game to the Il-2 line in terms of flying tank since they needed a damn wrecking ball to destroy this thing, but yeah, depending on where they put it I don't want it to be like 30-50 dollars I can't afford and never get to play, or a one of shot at it that god forbid something happens like I end up in the hospital again like during the Su-25 event now it's lost to me forever cause the only other way is 300 dollars to some guy on the marketplace selling it (the Su-25 is not that pricey on it, but you get the idea). To say nothing of the fact that if they re-introduce planes, tanks, or ships that were rewards years ago at this point - it will keep players around and playing who either want to get it for the first time or ones who want to get it to sell it going, and five anyone that has already got it a chance to go 'know what, I'll pass and do something else in game or play something else' without losing out on anything - so everyone wins, except the price gougers who deserve to lose. It also critically delays the need for 'new vehicles slightly' cause how many years in now - yeah, their about to run in to a hard wall especially on planes and maybe tanks that they've added just about everything they can tech tree wise. If they cycle in old things for events and all - they can conserve what they got left spaced out more and keep new content coming out longer, while having content that will be new to new players or those of us that took breaks when certain things came out.

There’s a reason the player base basically rioted last year. It’s true that from a business perspective, they’re just trying to maximize profits. But this idea that consumers can’t criticize them for prioritizing money over players’ enjoyment of the game is ridiculous. I buy premium time, I’m a paying customer, I should get a say about F-4S players making playing anything U.S. around the 11.3 BR a miserable experience. We just want a healthy balance between monetization and the health of the gameplay experience. Like a level cap where you can’t buy premiums at a certain BR until your account is a certain level for example

Nowadays, there are premiums for every nation at every tier. We're at a point where the distributions of wins/losses and numbers of premiums/nonpremiums are pretty normalized. There are a few exceptions, the F-5C has been extremely strong, but that's probably due to top tier lobbies sucking up all the Tier VII premiums. Maybe your experience is different, but I think the prices of premium packs are fine. People should just vote with their wallets. If a company wants to take advantage of newbies and FOMO, then that's on the consumer, not the company to make the responsible decision.

I wouldn’t really say that the Alpha Jet is really copy and paste, the A gets flares and should get a rwr and the E basically gets two 30mm guns. It’s like a Leo 2 A5 and a Leo 2PSO similar to one another but definitely unique. With export variants coming that will most likely change depending on the variant added.

I'm not surprised with the premium tanks. Once the premium 2A4 came out, I said they will do the same with the rest of the trees. You could argue that the Turms or ZTZ96A (P) started it, but I'd say the 2A4 started that more modern, decently armored, armed, and mobile MBT's as a premium did. The lightly armored vehicles that had done prior just weren't that friendly to the main target audience, the less experienced players taking their first real dip into top tier. Just as I said would happen (expect more premium modern MBT's), we got the M1A1 "Clickbait" and Challenger 2 OES and now they are filling in the Japanese (surprised honestly), Swedish, and Israeli tree (though I argue that France should have gotten something over a Merkava or *Insert another T-80 meme here*). Not saying I fully agree on them (especially price and just about everything in regards to the Tigershark), but I'm just saying that it really shouldn't be a surprise to anybody who pays even a little bit of attention of things that get added, especially in regards to specific premiums in specific trees.

I think another problem is there is no high tier tech tree vehicles (10.0 or higher). All high tier vehicles were premium. The 120S and SU25SM3 was about all we got. Don't misunderstand me for asking for more content....I understand gaijin has to sometimes do drip feed updates to space out content. Especially with us coming towards the pinnacle of military tech. However do interpret this as me saying I would have preferred if some of these unique premiums at 10.0 or higher were instead tech tree vehicles and rather some copy paste premiums were added.

Im fine with the top tier premiums so long as there price goes down if more ranks and tiers are added. Because it means less people spamming top tier premiums and in all honesty they’re only that expensive because its not the vehicles your buying but the time (exception is tanks but I will cover that) You buy 1 top tier jet you are essentially skipping almost 350 hours min of playtime or even a year of just playing the tree normally. Like I got the F4J UK because after 100% completing the Germand and US tree I really didn’t wanna re grind a 3rd as I did with those. Buying that jet I completed what took me a whole 2 years in 1 month. Now in terms of tanks I think the prices are bullshit because 1 tank will do nothing. I could see paying 80-100$ for a line up of premiums but 1 tank will not help you grind or save time like jets do. But again its a positive factor because the more expensive the less premium spams I see at top tier.

Unpopular opinion here.... I really love the premiums that *are* unique and special. As someone who is at the endcaps of multiple trees, if I am going to buy another premium, it better be something cool. Even when I was starting out, the major factor that got me to buy the A-6E as my first premium, was that it wasn't something that I was going to get later down the road, and the A-6E was everything I ever desired in a bomber. I don't plan on ever getting the F-4S, but the F-20? It's special! This is why I got the Des Moines. This ship that has super rapid 8in guns that isn't somewhere down the line. I want Premium to be the domain of the weird and wacky, but not necessarily peak of the meta.

I think people are a bit confused on what "top tier" means in WT. Top tier for Gaijin does not mean top-Rank. It means the current maximum BR. In Gaijin's eyes, a Rank 8 premium isn't top tier unless they put it at 12.7. Nitpicky? Maybe. But that's the principle Gaijin has operated under for a really long time now.

My non-pasta list: alpha, fox, wessex, vtt, zbd, zerstorer 45 (& ships). Everything else is just some very slightly modified 3d models or a mashup of already existing stuff (60-120). I'm not sure why you're counting the BF109C as on the edge, I might be missing something but it looks pretty much the exact same model as the B-1 to me. For a vehicles update it's pretty boring, I think at this point we might concede that regenerative steering will only come with the T-14, they also seem to have slowed down the addition of the 3d tracks significantly, finally, the top tier pasta might worsen the US winrate even more: now we'll have US+UK+JP+ISR with 11.0-11.3 premiums, and those 4 mostly play on the same team. With only Italy on the other side, will this really balance premium players at top tier?

Sadley I doubt we will ever see a cool unique vehicle as an event vehicle like the F20 was a perfect one for an event but it being a highly requested they know they can make bank from it as a pack premium. They now give us event vehicles as a copy paste way for people to play high tier copy a way without having to grind the whole tree to play it perfectly example was the M2K for the winter. I have the means to do the naval event having all the top premium US naval ships and the Mississippi to get it done but can’t be bothered to grind even though I could pair it with my Prince Eugene

Event vehicles suck ass. They require even more effort to get than normal tree vehicles, then you still have to stock grind them, and then they have 0 bonuses at all. They're not even worth it unless they're premium or broken overpowered like the 292 and other Russian event vehicles.

The Mirage 2K is cool though because you don’t have to grind the whole French tree to play it. Most event vehicles are slightly worse than their tech tree counterpart, but this one just has slightly less countermeasures. Also most event jets are CAS, while this one is (what used to be) a top tier fighter.

Yes it has the best apfsds in the game, but it has a slow reload, poor gun handling, no mg not even a coax, no smoke launchers, no era and no thermals. The armor can stop early APFSDS from the front but won’t do much in uptiers or against ATGM’s. Don’t get me wrong, the Obj 292 is a really fun tank. It can be really good when in the right hands but overall it’s a balanced tank.

To Copy Paste for the Hungarian Air Tree. I dont have a problem with it, but when they do a copy pasta tree, they should at least go to Wikipedia, search for Royal Hungarian Airforce of World War II and what you find, a lot of german planes the used at lot of BF109 G-Series. They just copied the russian planes and jets and only one swedish jet, that didnt even make it to the swedish tech tree despite the annoucement they would implementing it next content patch. Pretty much disappointment for the first patch this year. Like always what Gaijin do, they go 1 step ahead and 5 steps in the same back.

I understand, it’s an awesome plane and very anticipated and I do agree it would’ve been better as an Event vehicle but never would it have been a TT vehicle. People do need to understand that. Also also, it’s the fact that there are now rank 8 top tier premium and I agree that it’s terrible. I’d say this is the main fact. But hey, we as the people are encouraging this behaviour and we cannot control everybody to stop buying premiums from the game so I feel it’s mainly just people coping. Italy has a small army, it’s normal that it doesn’t have much. f20 premium right to top tier...... This game is getting worse and worse. I really wanted to love this game, i been playing it for 4 years and spent over 1500 bucks in this game. Im glad i transitioned to a better game like dcs. I get my mix of flying in, then spent a few hours in the mission editor making AI battles mixed with real player. its so fun.

Ah I still remember that shooting range video when they said "we will never add top tier jet premiums" im 99% positive that video is still up. Either way the F20 is beautiful and more people will buy it to strictly bomb with it. Also another Abrams is surprising but more freedom is good. Again, WarThunder is free to play. Nobody is forcing anyone to buy the 75$ prem/plane. Why the tears like its being imposed that you have to pay for that to enjoy/play the game. Live by your means spend on how much you truly earn. The problem is you not WarThunder same as Luxury Brands Imposing ridiculous prices. It’s not for everyone. Period. But again as long as someone is buying then Gaijin would still be selling and for sure there is alot buying those premiums. If you cant then deal with the thing called “life” go find a job work and earn enough disposable income to spend on your hobbies/interests. Some people played 10+ years to reach top tier without buying any prem. 75$ is not a steep price if you were earning minimum for those 10yrs that the game was out so you can grind to toptier in 2 to 4 weeks.

Alright, add things that keep some players that have to go to work or have low end systems (mainly pc) not saying this is a key point but it's definitely something to look at when your talking about a near non stop grind

@@Krieg_General i was that guy 10 years ago. I started playing 2013 and i didnt even have my own PC. I went to computer shops and i knew i would never buy a premium vehicle that time. I was in uni then i bought my first ever prem tank T-34-100 by saving 2$ a week. A week! Graduated, Worked, Bought my Own PC now i can buy any premium i want but i still buy most of it on sale times. But still. Warthunder was always there premium was there eversince it started. It didn’t dictate how i should feel about the game because i know its me who needs to improve not the game to stoop what means i only have. Because no one is forcing you to play the game in the first place. Stop blaming a perfectly decent game because you cant afford it. Because its FREE to play. Always has been.

It doesn’t even get you the whole tree researched instantly, you have to grind for it. The reason it’s that high is because Gaijin knows they can impose any price and the playerbase will accept it no questions asked because the addiction is high. At that price you can buy several much better games on Steam during Christmas and summer sales. IRL you can buy much more important things or save it up, which is important with how bad the economy is today. So overall War Thunder is just one big waste of money. Working 9 to 5 IRL just to grind afterwards is stupid.
