I am a gold miner in MT and an outfitter. In the off season, I work from coast to coast. I sell wool blankets and I classify them into good, better and best depending on size, weight and wool content. By far, their is no other blanket out there that beats a Hudson Bay Blanket. They are very expensive but are a lifetime investment. In early May or late September and I am up in the mountains, I can get hit with a late or early blizzard. That's when my wool blankets suddenly become priceless.

Thanks for commenting Paul. Your experience and input on this means so much because of how you use it. I absolutely love my Hudson Bay wool blanket and also feel it’s a blanket I’ll have the rest of my life.

I'll put a swiss link wool blanket against those any day and much much cheaper
@Paul-hg3hm4 жыл бұрын
@@patriotrob7066 I'm glad you like the Swiss Link blankets Rob. I sell Swiss Link and they are good quality wool blankets and much more affordable. But having said that, they are not anywhere near Hudson Bay quality but most people in todays world are not going to pay the Hudson Bay price. I would be proud to sell Hudson Bay but my customers just won't buy them.

I have a Hudson Bay blanket bought by my parents in Canada more than 50 years ago. It’s a four stripe. Had no idea how valuable it is.

Yes they are worth quite a bit. They have a rich heritage and are great wool blankets. Thanks for watching

My blanket was given to me 50+ years ago by my parents for a Canadian schoolboy experience. It still keeps my bed warm all these years later. I just bought a bigger one and it is well worth the cost.

Can't believe you got it at a thrift shop. These are the best of the best. Wash by hand in cool water with small amount baby soap. Squeeze but do not ring out. Lay on absorbent towel 24 hours to dry. Will last a lifetime with proper care.

Great video! I'm Canadian. I bought that blanket directly from the Hudsons Bay department store here in Toronto, Canada for full price ($500 Cdn, very expensive!) because I love it. It's a highly coveted blanket here in Canada.

Thank you for the review. You don't need a blanket on a sunny day with the birds chirping though. I find many other manufacturers have made blankets just as nice, and in fact had a custom made one in a particular tartan. I find the HB boring as a pattern.

You have to buy it in Canada, and bring Canadian money. At the cost, the currency conversion will kill the deal. $350CDN at the Vancouver, BC store 10-22. (6 stripes). Paid Canadian and had to take it off the antlers of the display moose! It's part of the adventure.😀

@@Woody10719 good question! I can only speculate that it must have had some distinguishing, manufacturing, characteristics that associated it with either the time period or the actual War.
