LOC button is for intercepting a certain VOR or just intercept a localizer generally, APPR button is to intercept the localizer and then fly you on the glide path. great video Matt keep them coming :)

Hi Matt, long time viewer first time question asker. I'm looking to upgrade my rig to run P3d yet I have a ton of addons (PMDG 744, UK2000 Heathrow, Fuerteventura to name a few) if I was to copy the folders to P3d when I finally get round to it should they still work? I just worry because I didn't want to have to reinvest a ton of money to get everything up to how it was before, which is why I have been hesitant to convert up until now

Hey matt! Thanks for another amazing video, already the fourth one these last days! Amazing job! I'm just considering buying the Airbus X Bundle Pack, so this vid just arrived exactly at the correct time :) Keep the videos in Prepar3d! Never do anything with FSX anymore :-) I don't actually understand why there are still people sticking to FSX... Everything works exactly the same in P3D, there could only be one problem, the pc specs. But to watch KZbin videos, I personally wouldnt want anything else than these stunning graphics :) Keep up the good work!

***** appreciate the vids :) Just one question. When I run GSX with one of my PMDG's, the stair always 'drives' to the Left Rear Entry, instead of the Left Forward Entry... I don't know how to get it onto the correct place (in the NGX the Left Entry FWD, in the T7 the Left 2nd Entry FWD)... Any solutions? Thanks!

Great video! Also, in the summer months, Glasgow get a virgin 747 to and from orlando! Also we have had an A380 land here once for a celebration. So basically in the summer we get 3 heavies a day!

Great video once again Matt - keep up the good work. You had questions about the approach into ALC. The Airbus, during FMGC managed non-precision approaches, doesn't actually use the signals from the ground based beacons to fly the approach. It flies what is called an 'overlay' approach using its derived GPS/IRS position. Theoretically therefore, it could fly a non precision approach (VOR or NDB) even without the beacon working! Indeed, this is how it is able to fly a GNSS RNAV approach without any ground based beacons. So providing the approach is inserted into the flight plan page and you have NAV Accuracy HIGH then it should fly the approach accurately. The use of the FIX INFO page is for monitoring and situational awareness only - it doesn't provide any guidance for the FMGC to use. Naturally, on line, we wouldn't fly a VOR or NDB approach without the beacon working because the raw data it provides is used by the pilots to monitor what the managed guidance is doing. If the managed guidance is deemed to be inaccurate, then pilot intervention using selected guidance on the FCU is then used to complete the approach. Hope this helps.

Hey Matt, there is actually no way to perform a raw data VOR intercept with the bus. The only way to manually follow a VOR radial is to enter the VOR on the DIR TO page and select RADIAL IN or RADIAL OUT. Besides, you clearly have to distinguish between managed and selected modes (as you are mixing them up a little on the approach). And i've got to add: Your landings are a real pleasure to watch! I've never seen anything close to it on youtube so far. Keep up the great work :)

So Matt, to manually intercept radials what you do is this:Step 1: Chose an airlineStep 2: Chose many backup airlinesStep 3: Send your CV to all selected airlines with a covering letter saying you'd like to become a pilot and fly for themStep 4: wait for responsesStep 5: receive responses and hope for at least one offerStep 6: accept one of the offersStep 7: learn to flyStep 8: decide this is all way too much effort and go back to asking youtube comments section insteadStep 9: :D

You can use LOC in order to capture a vor radial, if the course is entered on the radio navigation page on the FMGS.

Very nice video. I think you could do some flying with the 777-300. There is one airline called Air Austral, that operates 777-300s and has a hub in Reunion. There's plenty nice places to fly to, such as Mauritius, the capital of Madagascar (can't spell it), the Comoros ans Seychelles. Such a short flight with triple seven 'd be nice.

Matt, can you do a Thomas Cook flight from Manchester to Heraklion (Crete, Greece ) in the levelD 767 Flight time: 4:00 hours Scheduled departure: 14:50 Arrival time (Greek time +2): 21:00 Callsign: TCX2148 On Vatsim Heraklion has a lovely coastal approach no ILS and great right hand turn to line up with runway 27. Would be great to see you do this flight as I have flew this route 5 times once on a Thomas Cook 767 (G-TCCA).
