I am just AMAZED that you did your big trip without a windlass. My back problems started in the 1990's pulling an anchor up by hand just occasionally.

Now, it is much easier and safer as well 😀⛵️⛵️

Love your videos Martin. Seen all of them. Love watching solo sailors. Perhaps you can do an episode on how your boat is set up for solo sailing and the most important equipment you rely on because you solo sail. Thanks for the videos!

Great video again Martin... I noticed that you almost lost your glasses at 6:14.... but you dodged that bullet. You have an anchor swivel that is hold together by a screw that is glued in. I had the same. Specifically saying HAD. Lost my anchor mid ocean due to the fact that the glue came apart and thus my anchor went for a dive. Didn't notice until that night when I wanted to anchor in 25knts of wind (heart beat went up a few clicks). Please look into a mechanism to secure the bolt as you don't want to have the same surprised look on your face as happend to me. Love your channel and good travels...

Thank you, Hans, that's a pitty with your anchor. When cruising I have the anchor always secured with some ropes, better might be a little chain. Kind regards 😀⛵⛵

I laughed when I heard the German siren in the background. It makes me homesick in a strange way. I wonder - whenever I put a cable through a conduit, I leave a mouse cord too so that I can use it again just in case. Perhaps someone more experienced could tell me if this is a good idea or not. An excellent addition to your boat, Martin. Fair winds to you and Olli.

Hi there Martin verry interesting video again. I was wondering if you plan on using the Honda generator again on your next passage or have you plan another way to create electricity?
@mjambo6973 жыл бұрын
Hi Marco, thank you. Yes, the Honda-Genset is still part of the energy concept, now coupled with an 100A-charger making it more efficient. 😀⛵️⛵️

In addition to your boat, what kind of monthly income do you think is necessary to engage in full year ocean cruising? I am trying to plan for this with about a 35 year horizon.
@mjambo6973 жыл бұрын
Ist depends on the number of people, number of home flights, anchoring versus marina mooring, restaurants versus cooking, insurances (boat, health). But as best guestimate for the solo sailor 1,5-3k Euro/month.

Always interests me why someone would give a good video like this the thumbs down. Maybe Ollie ! 😉
