Get an additional 500 or 1,000 gallon pig. Heat with wood, cook with wood stove or charcoal grill, save propane. Generate power from solar and gas and propane. Propane easy to store, relatively cheap today. Keep propane tanks topped off. Cheers! ✌️🎅🇺🇸👍

I live in the deep South the humidity is always high - so solar panels only put out 20% of there rated out put at noon time lol, on a rare cloudless day - In 2022 there was heavy cloud cover from Feb till July solar is worthless down here lol

Great video, We are preppers also and this summer a tornado came thru taking out 4000 power poles we had no power for 1 week, Luckily we have the exact generator you have the 13,000 kw model, We ran it dsily with a grill tank that lasted about 5 hours and we have a larger tank that then ran it around 9 hours ,we would go thru 2 tanks a day of propane and shut it down at 9 pm, we also have 2 eco flow delta 2kw battery packs, so my wife would watch tv with one and we had the other connected to our fridge and freezer after 9 pm until morning. Then every morning we shut down the eco flows and put the whole house generator to run the well and AC since it was 90 degrees daily, we had no issue making it 1 week ,our main issue is we had so many trees down we couldnt get to the highway for 3 days ,so i was busy chainsawing trees and making a path so we could get out of our driveway and to the highway that was blocked so we coupd just get to town. I recommend a good generator and power supply like a eco flow delta or similar brand. Keep prepping

my battery back up main is in my van, 14kwh, 3 way charge if needed, under a 275 watt 36 volt max output industrial solar panel on the roof. However if the grid goes down when i'm not home to swap off the grid and to the van is a concern. I've been considering a solar generator i can use as an inline UPS system for my deep freezers. Oupes seems like the most cost effective. Just wish they were made in the USA

Mine is dual, and it's great! Stored supplies FOR that as well! Also have other dual equipment, its a game changer...even my generator has a noise reduction box! although we live in a rural area! just wanted less noise to be aware of alarms around the property and the cameras! YES! It IS key to have back ups for your back upstairs! Great Video Colby! I understand, Oupes is a decent one but there's many...find one to fit ur personal needs...They are not your primary, but ur ability to keep what you need run! Those wheels are essential!

Yesyes! I got a BLUETTI and want to get another one for another heat source! My car didn’t charge it up fast at all and I didn’t get the solar panels yet but am working on it. We live in the mountains and already lost power once this winter from 5:30 am till 5:30 pm but we were good as the house is well insulated plus we also have a Mr. Buddy with over a dozen 16 oz propane tanks. Need more though. Just keep plugging along for prep supplies….little by little.

Solar generators are okay but nothing beats a custom built off grid system. I’ve been designing and installing offgrid systems for 14 years. If you have any design questions let me know. Hi Merry Christmas! It depends on the refrigerator and on something called “peak sun hours” of your location. Site efficiency also comes into play as everyone’s site is a bit different. The refrigerator should have an EnergyGuide rating which will be something like 350kWh/year which is the average amount of energy that particular model of fridge will consume annually. Once we have that and your location we can size up a system

Also all Lithium ion Batteries will be fried in an EMP situation, Lead Acid Batteries will not be affected by an EMP. Also all your LED Light bulbs will be fried. So if your flashlights have lithium batteries and an LED bulb it will be trash. Don't waste 1000's of dollars on Generators unless they are protected by EMP shields, you will feel pretty dumb if there is an EMP or CME.

Although if there is an amp would it break down the battery? I'm lucky I live in a state that doesn't get as cold as other states. What worries me is my meat and vegetables in the fridge and freezer. Just a small problem with using the phone app, every device connected to phone becomes a source of hacking, phone/internet are not secure and very susceptible to hacking, making your opsec vulnerable

I was not a fan of these green energy ideas like solar but wanted to learn more about it. A year later I have a modest setup in my shed and I’m now a believer in solar at least for some applications. I’m getting ready to get a gas generator because where I live, the winter sun angles make solar not as practical as it is in the summer. Best to have multiple options I guess.

The only thing with using your phone if cell service is out you can’t use. I did but two solar generators figuring out how to set them up for use if needed thanks for the video to know I made the right decision on solar not gas or propane

My folk bought one because I’m on oxygen 24/7. But we would need to buy to add to it because the one we got only last 1 1/2 hour. I’m on an Oxygen consentrator and CPAP machine at night. It’s good for the CPAP. Mom said great I wasted $1,200 dollars. I said no you don’t you can put for frig on it so we don’t loose our food. You can use the light plus we can charge phones and other lower electronic items.

As you said it took you years to save up for that many thousand $$$$ worth of equipment, I don't believe we have many years left before it's needed. Those of us on very limited disability income will never be able to save enough in time, not if we want a roof overhead and food in our bellies. You should consider a solar inverter that will let u hook up that generator to charge up batteries to . Schneider will work fairly well . I only have a 5500 watt durabrand dual fuel. On cloudy days it will assist the solar. Am curious how you hooked up that big ole tank to that rascal though . I use the standard grill one

Our home was built in 1907 and added onto in the 50's. The people who lived in this home prior to us had a gas unit installed for the downstairs and a central electric unit upstairs...it is insane expensive! I wish we could afford to have that ripped out and replaced with electric central air downstairs. Our bill is often 200 for electric and then 500 monthly for gas. Last year I had a wood stove installed which is great but doesn't really heat the entire downstairs so we keep areas closed off...wood isn't free either...though I'd much rather use wood than gasoline. In case we had a cold snap we own a buddy heater and we have a solar generator thats small from Oupes. Eventually everything in its time we'll be able to do some thing about it. 😅

Any one considering this take it from another experienced solar owner GO BIG or forget it So plan to get mega 3 plus 4 B2's if you need to run a furnace and a hand full of other items in the dead of winter You will need at least all that battery capability If the power is down for several days These are good quality DON"T buy these low end junk units that burn out and go dead fast

Where I live in a Apt I could not use the solar panels I get the morning sun, and people would complain, (?) I could use the Plug in ones, for the T V and radios, Not use How I could use it for the air conditioner but could use a fan. I will have to look into the ones you can plug in and charge.

Had a power outage early this morning. The substation I was on went down---last week, I literally had a grid down. Gophers chewed up lines underneath my MH. New lines put in. I can only hope that my homeowners insurance will help pay for it, haven't received a bill yet either. My substation goes down off and on randomly all summer long. Too many lake properties and AC units. KWh charge went up this year too. They have been working on so many areas, trying to get them to not have outages. I want solar chargers, but I cannot afford any of them. Can't even afford the gas ones.

Juist got my car insurance bill and it is going up $40 a month and that is just one bill. Don't know what to do because my savings in decreased instead of increasing.
