Hence the term of "farming out" some of the work. I love seeing the new ways creative people are finding to make a living on the land. Good luck on this new venture!!

Yes, I think this is a very interesting plan for chickens. In our state, we are limited in the number of chickens that you can sell each year without requiring more certification and expense. This could be a way to do some community outreach and education, get your customers involved with some skin in the game while providing them a way to be involved in producing their own food. I love it.

Good idea on the chickens if it works out. You are the only one who stands to loose and I hope that does not happen because your are being very generous. I'm very thankful for my nine layers. Small group, but big enough for us. God bless y'all and keep growing.

I think on that cow watering setup I would put 2 t posts in the ground and ratchet the barrel to the t posts

That's what we did for pigs. And on a smaller scale for laying hens.

Get on a loop program . Chickens and pigs love it. They keep meat seperate for pigs. Use oregano for mixing in cgicken feed for bird flue and such. Minced garlic or pumpkin seeds for pug worming. NATURAL as possible.

I watch you folks faithly every video and want to thank you for your content. I am a homesteader raising chickens for meat and eggs, a few pigs and a large garden on 3/4 acre in a subdivision in SW Texas. You are good folks with great info that always helps me even though I have been doing this for years. THANKS!
@rnupnorthbrrrsm61236 ай бұрын
How do you fit all that on 3/4 an acre ??? I’m always trying to figure out how I can fit more in my space. I jokingly said to my seasonal neighbor who has a narrow strip of land the length of my property, “your going to come one day and that’s going to be garden”, she said, “you better not” :( Really nice people but she only wants flowers !

Yes those eggs look really nice. Our veggies eggs and pork from my homestead. Our beef comes from a local farm. I'm a firm believer in buying local and supporting the farmers and ranchers around our area.

Very true about local food. I've purchased local grass-fed beef for 25 years. I've kept egg layers for 31. We have a great year-round store for greens, meats, milk & other local stuff. Bread also, but I make that too. I'm in SE PA. Love your videos.

I think this could be a great model for a lot of small farms/homesteaders for perhaps another reason. For myself, I am currently looking for land for my bachelor retirement. I'm pretty well convinced that I could take care of some animals on my own. But, marketing and selling them too seems too much. If I could do some of the work, and leave the business side of it to someone whose already built up that market, and has the experience; plus have a mentor of sorts as a newbie, I think that would be a great opportunity.

I’m a subscriber from you and Saundra’s beginning. We started homesteading in 2020 North/Central Texas, and you inspire me constantly abt truly being a good steward for our animals. We too have a had ups and downs and we always get back up. Thanks for sharing your journey. 🙏👩🏽🌾🐷🐣🐄

I love watching a new video each week! Saundra mentioned you were getting some broilers from around the Raleigh area? I would love to be able to order chickens from a local Hatchery. Is that possible I live in Raeford North Carolina. Like most everyone else around here my chickens come from Ohio or Iowa somewhere far off, but I believe in supporting our state and local.

Hatching your own eggs will help you out with time and gas money. I know you can't hatch all the eggs that you need in a year but I'm sure every little bit helps in your business. I'm glad you were able to find a source for meat chicken eggs, I'm sure that's quite rare. Good luck and I hope you have a great hatch rate!

Well, "Whistle Britches" is continuing to make her own video segments. You better be careful Chuck because viewers are fickle and disloyal. Your viewers will slip away like a 10-pound catfish in a 4-year-old's hand.
