It rallies in some years but in those years 1) there has been a 7%+ drop in Sept/Oct and/or 2) stocks had been fairly valued or undervalued. So nothing to do with 2024. I Am actually sick of other TA channels because they keep calling for a rally "due to election and seasonality" then completely ignore that all of their charts so a correction before the election...which they just completely ignore, as if it means nothing, since it contradicts the narrative that the same should happen this year.

The market looks like a great staircase going up. The issue is that it looks like it's close to the time of a pull back. My concern is that all the money people that made billions after the election will all at once take profits, which would cause a bigger than normal fall. Am I just being paranoid??

I think if you look at RSI and a very long term trend line I would be careful of thinking of a melt up this year past 610 on the SPY. The trend line is from the peak of The Great Depression to the pre covid highs.

2023-2024: strong rally, fundamentals/earnings no longer matter. Three small drops that get immediately bought up. Manic rally since Sept 18th. Downplay non-good information and ignore anything on earnings calls that is not super bullish. Trump bump = tulipmania/1929 level of insanity and conspiracy theories and ridiculous upgrades from Wall St that make no sense and will probably never happen. Yes the charts go up and to the right but I've never seen this level of mania before. I wonder how the perma bulls will handle a "regular" stock market, let alone a bear market (and I am of the school of thought that 2022 was not a bear market but crash in a larger bull market).

oh there is definitely going to be volatility, the Trump bump made no sense. For example, the industrials that skyrocketed already reported earnings and dropped based off of the actual data, and Trump hasn't promised them anything. JPM up 10% when JPM won't really benefit either way from Trump. I remember on their earnings call, Dimon said they will continue sitting on cash until asset prices come down (media didn't report that by the way, shockingly!). It's not like they're going to go on a shopping/spending/lending spree just because a random president says it's cool

This is what most TA channels miss time and time again. I don't follow this specific one closely enough, but I notice many others always follow the trend or call stuff as it's happening. Same way most stocks target prices are always 20-30% higher than the current price and are often BS

I love the charts. However, no one is discussing information, the actual economy, data...it's all bullish vibes and "what ifs" and feelings and cheering mediocre earnings. Which is why I am following TA channels because fundamentals don't matter. At all. However, we've seen this before, when everyone is calling for more manic upside, it usually randomly drops and then people do pikachu face and never getting called out for their charts being wrong. Personally, I've never seen this much mania and selectively ignoring negative information. We don't even need a black swan to drop. We just need Wall St. to care about stock valuations and all economic data, not cherry picking the good data. Or measure it correctly. I mean, the fact that the media is churning out "white hot economy" because GDP growth is 3% is kind of crazy to begin with. I think perma bulls have forgotten that
