Thank you for creating these videos with a slower beat! They’re incredibly helpful for my practice! You’ve made it possible for adults like me to learn the violin!

So great u play so slowly helping me with practicing😊 and why did u kinda jump ur bow?
@violingardenacademy7 ай бұрын
You mean in the beginning? Its a common way of playing it, as it brings more energy into the phrase:-) First learn to play it without lifting the bow, and if your teacher thinks you are ready for lifting it, then do it too! All the best for your practice!

I notice there are white strips on the bow is that to make sure the violinist doesn't go past those places on the bow?
@violingardenacademy Жыл бұрын
The strips are to help students know the different parts of the bow. Balance point, middle and 3/4 point, in addition to the frog and the tip. At each point we have to use different parts of our arm (shoulder, elbow, wrist, hand) to draw the bow straight, or parallel to the bridge. So we practice each part a lot separately in order to train the muscle memory. Then we use them for bow division, so they help students to understand how much bow to use for each note, as it is not equal to the rhythmical notation, but depends on the kind of stroke (legato, detaché, or dynamics, phrasing etc). I hope this helps you😊

Just added a period

Yes, you mean the dotted eighth note and sixteenth note? A good way to practic it is to focus just on the sixteenth note and the long note after it. Place your bow at the balance point, do a short/fast upbow and then draw a long bow after that. Do that many times until it is easy. Then add the dotted note that comes before. Hope this helps!

You can do it! Just practice drawing the bow from frog to tip on the A-string slowly and precicely every day, and with tonalizations and scales - and you will see that you can do it too! Wishing you all the best for your practice!

Do you mean the F natural on the E string (first finger low)? Yes, this is the fourth finger pattern you are learning now, and its quite tricky in the beginning. All fingers low except the thrid finger. The third finger is your anchor, to keep your hand stabilized in the first position. Make sure your thrid finger can hover over its place (easy to see if you have the stripes)and do not move your hand towards the scroll. Then move your first finger backwards. This is a topic I should make a video about, as its tough to explain, but I hope this is helpful in the meantime! Keep up the good practice, and I am so excited that you are learning the Two Grenadiers, its such a fun piece!!
