These are great tips! I suffered a severe right arm injury a couple years ago that required surgery (that didn't go well) and developed into CRPS in my right arm and hand. I couldn't even hold a gun without dropping it for a couple months but I am just getting started trying to spin a bit and I can barley do it at all because of the stiffness. But that middle finger stretch felt really good and I gained some flexibility.

I'm very glad that the stretching is helpful. It sounds like you are prepared to endure some pain to get your skills back. That's a requirement for gun all spinning. You may find yourself relying more on your left hand. At least I have. I am looking forward to hearing about your success.

That finger stretch not only helped me with spinning guns, but also for awkward finger positioning in my daily life (as a guitar player, only my left hand has flexible fingers). Thanks, cowsir!

Just started spinning with a Ruger Single Six. I can spin it backwards extremely well and flip it to a single forward spin. It’s pretty fun. My finger wouldn’t agree though. I’m thinking of getting a cheaper 22lr single action that I won’t be too worried about beating up. When you spin do you do it with the hammer completely down (so the trigger is free to move backwards/forwards) or on the safety notch (so the trigger is stuck forward)? I mostly spin with the hammer down completely, but I feel as though the trigger being stiff while on the safety notch will allow me to do better forward spins. Thank you for these videos, they are extremely helpful! Edit: I now keep it on the safety notch. I can now do several tosses and hand transitions. Can’t wait to learn more

Daniel, my gunspinning son (14) gets so frustrated by his guns getting “loose” after being dropped when learning new tricks. Can you recommend fun types? He has used Denix, Kolser. What do you use? TYIA❤❤❤

I use New Ruger Vaqueros. Western Stage Props has a solid aluminum pistol that works. I just make sure I have a good place to drop them.

I don't expect a response but my left hand can gun spin really well despite being my least dominant hand, when I try with my right the gun gets caught on my three other fingers cause they don't bend out naturally for some reason or the beavertail and grip strike my thumb and it doesn't happen with my left. While I don't expect a response I love gun spinning and wish to improve any ideas what could cause this and what could help? Thank you! (Edit) this might actually be the video for me, I'll give a go but I don't have hiigh hopes but i'm persistant and I love this hobby

After injuring my middle finger on my dominant hand, I have the same problem. Mine problem is probably a touch of arthritis. I can over come it by concentrating while I spin and by stretching like I describe in the video. If you are older like me, we might have the same issues. If you are younger, you're tendons might be tight. Stretching and practice are still the solutions.

@@rhinestoneropers9204 Thank you so much for a response, I'm younger so tight tendons might be the issue, I'm also from the UK where this hobby is little to not existent so hearing this is really helpful, I'll document or make a note of my progress and hopefully update you! Your an absolute legend for this support

@@rhinestoneropers9204 my sympathys with the arthritis, l have it in my left hand thumb the bottom knuckle is growing very large. It takes some concentration to ignore it, and l fear some day in the next year or two its going to stop my dexterity pretty much. And l am left handed, l practice with the right and its ok but nowhere near as good as my left.
