PREPARING A NEW CRUCIBLE

Coating a new crucible with borax is an absolute essential before it’s used for the first time. It stops the metal from sticking to the crucible.

Thank you for the video. I completely coated my crucible with Borax. Then I did a silver pour. But the sides on the inside of the crucible, are now "rough." They're no longer smooth. It looks like there's very small particles of something. Do you know what the problem might be? Thank you.
