Lovely heifers Richard how accurate is the weight tape, next job sheet the sides of the alley with stock boards should help even more.

Thanks Aidan The tape is just a rough guide, very rough!! Weighing a cow yesterday standing with her head down, in the crush, she weighed 80kg more than when I lifted her head with the scoop!! She was approximately 900kg. I've been looking at some electronic scales, added them to the most wanted list 🤞 Thanks for stock board tip 👍

Richard..interested in your breeding policy... is your herd pedigree 7/8 type limousin ...do you ever cross breed to gain benefit of hybrid vigor fertility milk ect... here in Ireland there are quite a few suckler men using pedigree saler cows crossed with culard charlois.. All that apart you have lovely stock There a credit to you and your family..

Hi Sean. Now that's an interesting comment, could probably make a full video about that. In answer to your question all my cows are home bred. Still have a lot of first cross cows out of dairy cows. As time goes by I'm getting more 3/4 and 7/8 limousin cows. Can see the difference in the shape of the calves. I keep looking at other breeds but I always seem to be drawn back to my limos 👍

They are 👌quality heifers. No bother finish cattle like that off grass next summer. Would they be the 12mths yet? ~400kg? Sorry if you mentioned it, l usually watch videos with the sound off!
