Preparing Deadzone: Part 5

Fantastic tips on the terrain, I really like the look in the end. I primed mine a dark grey which looks exactly like the same colour as the restic itself. I wasn't sure which way to go but I can see that black would've been the best option. Not looking forward to spraying them all again but it really does make it look good.

Awesome video. I recently got into miniature company board games and bought Space Hulk, which I enjoy. I have my eyes on either this game(Deadzone) or Betrayal at Calth as my next purchase, which do you prefer? I recently also started painting(trying to anyway) so these videos have been a big help. I noticed (especially when painting bases) that I can see brush strokes when the paint dries. Any tips on how not to get that?

Space Hulk is a classic, good buy. I don't mind Deadzone, but I don't think the miniatures are very good quality. It's more expandable that BaC however. Betrayal at Calth is great fun but more of a miniatures boardgame than a tabletop game like DZ. Brush strokes? Trying thinning your paint a bit more (which may mean you need a couple of coats).

For the highlight, instead of using white. Do you think using a metallic steel colour would work and make it look chipped and worn?

I think it would probably be too consist a 'highlight' to make it look like damage or wear; it would probably have the effect of making the whole thing look metallic. I suggest you try a test on a spare object and see if you like the effect.
