Preparing for British Army basic training 2021

As an ex Solider served 12 years got out 21 years ago ,the way you get trained is different from my time but the advice is still up to date ….you’ve got 2 eyes , 2 ears ,1 brain & 1 mouth ….look/watch ,listen ,think before speaking, your training staff are not there to fail or trip you up they are there to bring you all to a standard, at the end of phase 1 they can say yes this is a trained solider that I’d be happy to have beside me in a war zone , Phase 2 trade training will be slightly tougher fitness wise . Best advice I can give anyone only open your mouth to breath or eat/drink , last bit of advice …sit back and enjoy the ride because your about to go on a emotional rollercoaster,your going to find out a lot about yourself ,they’ll be times when you’ll be at your lowest physically and emotionally push through it as at the end of it you’ll be the fittest and emotional strongest you’ve ever been in your life . Good luck to all that are joining, my biggest mistake was getting out still regret now .👍

@@Belle-lt7cj watching your videos your in the right frame of mind , touch wood you have no injuries you’ll smash it 👍 keep us all up dated if you can on your progress …I know when in phase 1 phones and time is limited, camera phones weren’t invented when I did my basic way back in 1987 ..yes I’m that old 😂 keep your head down don’t get noticed for the wrong reasons , give 100% in everything you do that’s all the instructors want to see is maximum effort 👍

By the end of day 1 your find your battle buddy (friend) , long days quick weeks, best advice , they are there to get you passed training not there to fail you, keep chin up and keep moving forward

Someone under 30 who is not me,me,me. All the best, and in the U.K. military you meet the best of people, and in some cases the worst of people. I was once on exercise with US Army, and was humbled by those who are deeply religious in their military, which is far more common, than U.K . Forces.

was phase 1 quite difficult or do you just need moderate fitness ie 7-8 on the bleep test and decent strength

@@potsi2092 it’s more mentally challenging then physically if your hitting 8+ you should sail through basic training.

Its easy im at afc harrogate infantry course para just listen and keep your mouth shut! Let them train you! You will get shouted at and told your useless but thats apart of it! PT is PT everyone will find it hard because its army PT give 100 percent and dont sack it off because you cant be bothered or you will regret it!

If anybody is waiting to join the British Army, buy yourself copy of the Soldiers Pocket Book. It has been going for over thirty years, and updated yearly. My old copy has the e mail address www.milpkbk.co.u.k I think it costs well under ten pounds, and due its small size fits in combat jacket top pocket. Covers. Military Law, Fieldcraft, First Aid,Signals, weapons. Map reading, Physical Training, Adventurous Training, and more. Hope this helps.

I believe that the will of God will not take you where the grace of God cannot keep you. And if you commit to the Lord whatever you do, He will establish your plans :)

Another Christian perspective is a “Just War”. This is a Catholic doctrine. Sometimes in life, you need to kill evil. This is what a Soldier of Christ is for.
