Hi Sarah...I'm so excited for you and Jake!!!!!! Can't wait for you to get in and give us a tour. Actually I am moving as well. Wasn't planned but there is some structural damage to my house that will be more expensive to fix than to build a tiny house. So my son and grandson are building me a tiny house on the property. I am going from a 24x28 to a 14x20. I have boxes packed for a flea market trip. And packing up things I want to keep. It is a giant purge for sure!!!!

I'm so excited for you! It's so smart intentionally buying ahead of time. My sister went crazy after she moved and made some poor decisions plus spent too much, especially after just retiring. You want everything to be perfect, but it's good to live in the space. I love your idea of different colored hangers and I already have them. I never thought of using the black ones for gently worn but will start ASAP!

That will be fantastic if your new home is ready sooner than originally expected. We gave ourselves a month leeway when we moved and it was the best gift we could have given ourselves. I only wish I had discovered minimalism before then! Q: Do you think you'll foster bunnies at the new home? We just took in my daughter's bunny (she'll be moving back home in June) so we're pretty obsessed with him and his care. Any tips you have are welcome!

Hi, Sarah! I find it coincidentally exciting for both your move as well as mine! My best friend and I have been preparing a lot for moving into our first apartment. Our move-in day is on May 23rd. 😊 I think it's sensible of you to put a little more emphasis on decorating your first home in a way that respects the original design, but I would also encourage you to find ways to put your own creative spin on any decorating projects if you're into that sort of thing. My best friend and I have already done a couple small DIY projects. We'll probably add a couple more over time, but this can be a huge money saver for if you're on a tighter budget!

Thanks for your update Sarah. I like it, start as you mean to go on. I hang worn once on a hanger too with the handle turned the other way. Construction ahead of schedule??? Wow. We moved into our new construction home last September. I've done quite a bit of thrift store shopping to kind of tone down the "new" look of the place a give it a bit of history and depth. Question for your Q&A: Will you do any vintage or garage sale shopping for home decor or furnishings?
