I'm sorry you've been feeling unwell! I hope you feel better soon! One of us caught the flu a week before our puppies were born, but it was thankfully mild and nobody else caught it. Considering this is our first (and likely last) litter, it's nice to know even in retrospect we got a lot of the preparation stuff right. Our welping box is a raised vynil flower bed with foam/rubber interconnecting gym mat flooring, washable puppy pad, PVC puppy rails, and a heat lamp, but it worked out! Fortunately we didn't even need to cut cords or use the aspirator to get liquid out. Our mama poodle was a queen, she had those puppies cleaned up so fast it amazed us all! Her litter size is just perfect, in my opinion, six! This way, she doesn't have much trouble keeping up with their needs. Even our littlest one has grown from 11 ounces to an amazing 22 ounces in five days, which was a great relief! We still have the nursing supplies just in case, though! Anyway, I'm rambling, but I've been thinking about you guys since I know Dolly's puppies will be born soon. Your videos are lovely and reassuring. We have an unofficial litter theme of the 6 primary Harry Potter characters, since there's 6 puppies!

Do you have dogs who are in your program but who live in guardian homes come and stay with you for playdates/overnights from time to time so that they’re used to you by the time they come to you to have their babies? Always wondered if they’d be scared being so vulnerable in a new environment. My female doodle is a mama’s girl. I’m a guardian home but am apprenticing under my breeder so she will whelp the puppies at my home and then I’ll be raising them under her supervision.

In case your unaware, grain free formulas & sweet potatoes are some of the #1 causes of nutritional DCM. Due to having excessive amounts of legumes (peas, lentils, potatoes, pulses, flaxseed, etc.) I’m not trying to knock your ad. I’m just trying to help, incase you don’t know.

@@baileywilliams_ If you're talking about the washable potty pads, those things are awesome! (I'm partially blind, so not quite sure visually what was what in your video). I think you might have gotten the same brand of the big pads we did, because the two-pack we ordered of the 48x60 went on sale right after we bought them two weeks ago. They're holding up well so far, and we plan to use them in the back of the car for road trips once the puppies no longer need them.

Dogs are mainly carnivores they do not need grains at all they are actually bad for their digestive system and not needed

@@lauraveldman7430 Laura I have been working with dogs for over 20 years in nutrition and have guided dogs (large) to living over 15 years with minimal health conditions. As well as getting small dogs to live happy HEALTHY lives and passing away around 20. All I do is ensure dogs live happy healthy long lives so I think I know what I am talking about. In my personal experience vets don’t usually have the best advice on nutrition as their clinic and vet schools are supported and sponsored by big dog food companies.

My girl has to have grain free food or she'll get diarrhea, fur loss and vomiting. Even expensive foods vets "recommend" don't help her at all and the vets can't figure out why.

It hasn’t been linked , they just don’t know the reason dogs are getting it and want to factor grain free food out . But they don’t actually know, a lot of dogs that carry the gene for dcm are being bred so that could also be a factor

please don't feed grain free to your dogs it is not good for them and slowly deteriorates their health. I don't mean to hate I'm just giving some advice.

She still feeds Pro Plan which has grains she just adds this or open farm as a supplement/treat type food :)
