Hi Sophie I love your videos you helped me a lot with apparatus masteries and I was also able to make my own masteries . Your apparatus masteries helped me a lot because of it I was able to get gold medal in clubs and ribbon and sliver in ball hoop and all round and I got selected for national championship in the second place thank u sooo much 😊 ❤️🧡💛💚💙💜

Thank you so much Sophie! If only is saw this earlier! I had a comp today, I got first place for floor!! 💗💗 Rope was pretty good but at the end I tossed too far back and had to run and end abruptly. 😅

I have my first comps coming up end of may until mid june. Started RG in January and turned 20 last month 😮 so this is nervewracking! Gonna try this to help prep me for this! My solo routine isn't even finished yet 😅

Sofiee why do most gymnasts slams their towel on the ground before stepping on the carpet as opposed to just give it to their coach ? And why do some gymnasts slaps their legs?? I have sooo many more unanswered questions
@SophieCrane
@SophieCrane Жыл бұрын
lolll happy to answer whatever questions you have :) re slamming towels: many gymnasts (myself included) like to take one last deep breath before walking out. idk how this became such a popular thing lol, but the throwing down the towel i think is just part of that last deep breath and release of nerves re slapping legs: i did this a bit too haha, it's mostly just to wake up your muscles, make sure they're nice and alert for your routine

Do you have tips on how to memorize your routine and never forget it?❤
@SophieCrane
@SophieCrane Жыл бұрын
i would say just run through your routines in your head at random times throughout the day. if you can do that then you should be good for comps cause it'll sorta come by nature :)

I need an important tip! What sort of facial expressions should you have??? I come from kpop dance covers where what I needed was lip sinking with emotion so I feel sooo lost on what facials to do for RG 😅 The song is Fighting Gold by Coda incase you wanna hear it to get the vibe (obv don't have to!) Ahh I'm just so nervous as it's my first time on stage in years in general + it's a solo routine after just 6 months in RG (well by my solo routine comp it's just before hitting 6 months! at 5 months rn) AHHHH

Do you visualise in first or third person (like do you visualise in the pov of you doing them, or as a spectator)? I hope that question makes sense
@dorakatalinnagy3573

I think it's more useful to do in first person, imagining how the elements feel not just how they look. :)
@SophieCrane
@SophieCrane Жыл бұрын
that's such a good question! I think I typically visualize in the 3rd person, as if I'm rewatching a video of myself, because i like to physically see the movements being done. but I do agree with Dóra above about imaging how elements feel as well. maybe what could be beneficial is combining the two: visualizing in the third person while being mindful of how your body is reacting during each movement. this way you're aware of how things both feel and look. but as always try it out and see what you like/what works best for you :)

What do you think about during your routine?
@SophieCrane
@SophieCrane Жыл бұрын
ideally, you're focusing on one movement at a time throughout the routine, staying present in the moment. but tbh that's not alwasy the case...our minds often wonder, and we end up thinking about the most random and irrelevant things during these important moments lol

@SophieCrane

i can't really speak on that one...but i would assume it has something to do with their training environment and the way they're treated
