A recommendation for a small modification to your draws. I’ve had 2 galvanised steel plates pop riveted across to make divisions. The idea is to stop things sliding around. Mine are the size of a long life milk box and keep the milk/red wine/fruits juice safe.

Wasn't going to watch this, but then saw National Luna mentioned. I know you're sponsored, but I am not. I'm very interested to see how this goes, after seeing some of the "university of hard yards" moments on your other trips. I've used all kinds of NL products and I think they are successful as they are taking not only a holistic view of the whole deal, but also investing in development of their products to give solutions where failure to deliver always involves some kind of pain. I have the old NL battery box that I've tweaked a bit and it does the job, all the time, every time. I have a Weekender and had a problem only once, with indescribable corrugations, but eventually I found it wasn't the freezer but one of my connections. Their backup is really good too.

I agree on the extra mile theory of NL. Great product weekender fridge freezer

Great upgrades Matt, got me all excited man! I’m also busy with my build, it’s slow progress since i’m custom doing most of the stuff myself. Thanks for some helpful insight to your packing strategy which has alerted me on a few things that I’ve forgotten/overlooked. Namib is also high up in my bucket list, can’t wait to see this series unfold…..thumbs up boet 👍🏼

NICE, HAVE FUN. I LIKE YOUR SET UP. I JUST START TO BUILT MINE , WITH MY TOYOTA TACOMA ( CANADA) ... I GO THE 31 MARCH FOR MY RTT AND AWNING, I CHOOSE QUICK PICTH FOR THAS. NOW THE REAR CAB AND THE BED TRUCK ( SMALL BED 5 FEET) ARE SET UP ... I CHOOSE TO MAKE MY SET UP WITH ...MILWAUKEE PACKOUT... TOOL BOX FOR THE BED AND THE CAB VERY CONVENIENT WITH THIS AND PRACTICE..

A thought, a set of kneepads, going prone on stony ground, or changing tires /repairing the car.

Hi Matt, One things that has always been a concern to me was to secure the fire extinguisher in case of a high speed rollover. That thing can come around and kill you. In my Wrangler I mounted the plastic holder in the boot next to the subwoofer but I have the Frontrunner interior rack that will keep it bouncing around in the boot area in case of an incident but I think I will secure it with those hooking clips. I just though that that is something you might want to consider.

Why the change of roof racks? Is the easy Awn rack better than the frontrunner? Or did you need it for compatibility with the new RTT and Awning?
@dereksnyman7992 жыл бұрын
Hi Matt, enjoy your channel. You mentioned that your bakkie did not fit in your garage with previous RTT on -how do you do you plan doing it with the new one?
@andreolivier92082 жыл бұрын
Matt I just watched your packing episode. What is the weather sealed bag called that you paced the wood and charcole in on your roof rack? Where did you buy that?

@mattdubber Love the content as always and awesome that sponsors are recognising your channel. I trust you guys had a pleasant trip and looking forward to the series. One thing that kind of worried me, was having blitz, charcoal & firewood in an ammo box in hot areas. No fire hazard in that regard? Or is the cover deflecting ambient heat away as well?
@mattdubber2 жыл бұрын
Thank you! The ammo boxes don’t get very hot, so I’m not too worried about that! Heat in itself isn’t enough to cause anything to combust anyway
@Dizzyish2 жыл бұрын
At worst you’d have dried up blitz from the heat which would have evaporated most of the flammable liquids these blitz are saturated with.

I’ve seen you put a lot of things in there, things you said you would need in a hurry but I’ve seen nothing about first aid. I would think that would be right up there first for immediate use. Oops spoke to soon, sorry.
