ABMP has an excellent on line training system for something like $70. Excellent program and it got me passed after graduating from school eleven years ago! BTW I am 70 YO!

I graduated school 11 years ago as well and decided to take the MBLEX last year in 2021 and failed it twice. I know I am a great therapist but can’t pass the MBLEX. Thanks for tip on the on line training info.

I should tell you that you are excellent at drawing and mapping out the muscular system on patients it gives us such a vivid view of what is happening as you massage the muscles

In addition to my other comment, I took my mblex one month after I graduated. It seemed to be the perfect time to allow for preparation (I went through class notes, practiced mnemonics etc) while not forgetting too much from school.

Just got back to restudying. I took my MBLEX back in November after studying for 4 months straight (graduated February 2021) and I didn’t pass. Kinesiology, and Benefits we’re the two I did poor in. I’m about to re study again and take it again hopefully end of spring. It really demotivated me b it I’m trying g

Don’t get discouraged John. Some people just don’t do well taking test & a lot of students fail the first time so you’re not alone in this. At least now you know how the test is formatted & will pass the next time 🤞. I suggest you go to my Kinesiology Playlist & review all of them. I go over all the major muscles! I would also find a body to draw on so you can practice! Good luck

You're the second person that said Calif doesn't require the Emblex. I had to take it in 2015 along with 500 hours.

I graduated in 2011 when a licensed wasn’t required in New Jersey. Now it is so I attempted to take the test last year in 2021 and failed it twice. I am so discouraged. I know I am an excellent therapist but can’t seem to pass the test. I deserve my license just for the determination it took me to graduate in 2011 when the license wasn’t required. I need all the help I can get to pass this test and it being $265 doesn’t help either.

I’m sorry to hear you haven’t passed. I have no doubt you’re an excellent therapist! Unfortunately a lot of people do get test anxiety. Being a teacher for 25yrs I’ve seen it all, people with dyslexia, adhd, test anxiety & more. They’re very good as therapist yet can’t seem to pass the test. 😞😩. After all the extra hours you’ve put into your school I know you deserve it (NewJersey requires more than 500hrs). I’m working on these videos as fast as I can but it’s going to take a while to get them All done. Have you seen my playlist with the different categories? Pathology, kinesiology, anatomy reviews? I guaduated in year 2000 l failed the test in Florida and never went back I worked on a different medical carrera for 23 years and practice massage only to friends an family every Saturday, I have the experience as a therapist but I am dedicating more time to massage now and I am looking forward to take the Mblex , since us being too long can you guide me what materials do you recommend to study , I am planing to take my license at age of 44. I am taking courses in Massachusetts. I plan on moving to California in few years so is it worth taking the Mblex if it’s not required there? Or is it best to take it for “just in case” or to be safe if anything.

Ok so I googled it and this is what I found “It has recently come to our attention that as of January 1, 2019 the Massage and Bodywork Licensing Exam (MBLEx) will no longer be required to attain state certification through the California Massage Therapy Council (CAMTC). However, this is only a temporary change. The removal of the MBLEx as a requirement for certification will only be in place for the period of January 1, 2019 - December 31, 2020. The MBLEx will be reinstated as a testing requirement beginning January 2, 2021.”

​@@MassageTherapeutics915 As far as I know, California still doesnt require licensing for massage therapists. There are local requirements based on the regulations of different cities. Also, many businesses require licensing.

@@dminter1234 it’s really a shame. I wish all states had similar standards and made it easier for therapist to be able to use their license in different states. We live in a world where most people move around & practice in different states.

There is no time limit as long as you have all the correct hours of schooling. If the hours change then you will have to make up them hours to qualify

Hello Almiee there’s no easy answer to that question. The Mblex uses Auto Adaptive Testing. Meaning the test will adapt to your performance needs. You can check out FSMTB Website. They have everything related to Mblex. It is a great tool to prepare students!!! Good luck
