Goku has mastered ssj5 while Gohan just got ssj6 and isn't used to the new form, also Goku in his base is tremendously stronger then Gohan in his base, making Goku superior even with a level higher that is ssj6

To this I wanna remind everyone that Transformations are at the end of the day *Multipliers.* Goku’s base is far superior to Gohan’s. And Goku has been the strongest Saiyan since the Shadow Dragons saga, as Gohan and Vegeta struggled with SSJ5 while Goku didn’t really have that much of an issue.

Goku is a genius plain and simple. Gohan has extreme amounts of power inside of his body, which allows him to open up doors to his ki, but he doesn't know how to use them. Goku has almost as much power as Gohan, but knows how to use every inch of it perfectly. That's the difference, so Gohan hasn't even mastered four or five yet, whereas Goku has mastered every single form that he has to the very depth of it's potential.

The artist/artists are very talented but this manga after the shadow dragons 2.0 become just "im strong, no Im stronger, no in fact I have this form, well actually I have one above", etc. Everyone irl knows about ssj5 and the manga was around that, Pan died so Gohan goes ssj 5, becoming the strongest form ever. At the end of the arc Goku doesnt go "well actually I know how to go ssk6", he does something really cool. He explains that each ssj form is triggered by something (sorrow, angar, etc) and that you coul be stronger if you learned to controll all 5 emotions. But comes this arc and now you just need anger to ascend to ssj 6 and beyond
