Hi everyone I’m not sure if anyone is still watching this video but for anyone nervous about the biopsy it’s okay !!!! I was literally crying on the surgeon table lol 😂 but it didn’t hurt that much after they put the numbing needle i felt literally no pain or discomfort to anyone who’s going to get this just remember you got this and that really after they put the numbing you won’t feel a thing ❤ UPDATE: I did a chest biopsy a few months ago after the needle biopsy and realized the chest biopsy HURT ALOT so now I feel I am qualified to say that the difference in pain will probably be very dependent on where exactly you get the biopsy done on the neck I was fine but the chest hurt hope this helps!

I did mine today. 3/8/2023 - at first was very nervous and the Dr. assured me that I was in a good hand. To be honest sting me a little. But it’s not so bad at all, it almost feels like nothing. For a while I thought they were still working for the numbing injection, but they did everything and it was done fast. I can feel the Dr. hands moving but that was it. It’s not so bad at all. I encourage you to not be scared, the procedure is done professionally and nothing to worry about.

Just here to let everyone know and put some ease on some people's mind do it! It was more uncomfortable then painful my doctor used spray to put on the outside of my throat and was so helpful hope everyone is healthy sending prayers to whoever reads this

I did mine today and I’ll tell you that when that needle was going into my neck did hurt a bit. I’ll admit I was worried it would be painful but it wasn’t as painful as I thought it was going to be. For anyone out there about to do their thyroid biopsy, don’t be scared because it won’t as painful as you think it’ll be.

Yes I was scared but what wonderful doctors...little pain but they had to do biopsy twice...3 months apart...no Cancer...just a little medicine each day. Very blessed so far.

I had this done today and I was super scared so I’m writing this comment in case anyone needs some insight ☺️ Before I went to the hospital I applied some anesthetic cream (I was too scared that it would hurt too much and I’d move and fuck shit up), so my skin was somewhat numb. They used the same kind of syringe/needle they use for blood tests, nothing scary. It was still a bit painful (very bearable tho), like I could feel the needle going in and I also felt the pressure from the needle and the ultrasound transducer. I think it took around 30-60 seconds. It is very important not to swallow or talk during the procedure, try and focus not to give in to the swallowing reflex. It hurt a bit after the procedure was done, mostly when I ate/drank something (it’s now been 6 hours since then and I can still feel a bit of pain, but it’s normal - it’s also getting better). All in all it was less scary and painful than I thought. Fingers crossed to everyone and may your results be good.

Just had mine done today and it was very painful. 😢 I have high pain tolerance and did not expect it to hurt that way. I felt the poking inside the nodule and the pain flowed through my ears, head, and gut. Although, maybe it’s because the numbing cream didn’t set properly. No other anesthesia injected as well. Gladly, my doctor guided and comforted me throughout the procedure. Please make sure your anesthesia is set before going through the procedure!

Thank you for this video. I'm going for my Thyroid biopsy today at the NM VA Medical Center. I've been putting it off, but this video put me at ease. I wish I would have read these comments before my thyroid biopsy. I arrived to the office with high BP because I had been crying on the way there. As someone stated I was crying and nervous about the results. The endocrinologist went in a total of six times. This was very uncomfortable and by the last stick I was ready for it to be over. I had this done almost a year ago bc of a large nodule on my right thyroid lobe. I was pretty nervous beforehand bc I didn’t know if it was going to hurt and I was also just afraid of the results. There were 4 people in the room when I had mine done and they were all super nice and made me feel very comfortable. First they looked at my thyroid nodule on the computer and then they injected the area with lidocaine which was uncomfortable but not overly painful. I had the fine needle aspiration and the core biopsy. They did both to be extra sure my results were accurate so I was grateful for that. They did the FNAs first. Even though I was numb I did feel a little pressure which was again uncomfortable but not necessarily painful. They did 3 or 4 passes to make sure they got good samples and I wouldn’t have to come back. After that they did the core biopsy. This is supposed to be much more accurate than an FNA. They did 3 or 4 passes of that too. What made core biopsy different was that I felt pressure when they inserted the needle and then they tell you you’re gonna hear a click which can be startling but doesn’t really change how it feels. After that they put a bandaid on my little goiter and sent me on my way lol. I had some soreness in the area that started about an hour after the test and it hurt a little but nothing I couldn’t handle. I got my results a couple days later. Benign! 😁 (95% of thyroid nodules are benign). I cried from happiness bc I was just so glad the whole thing was over and turned out well. My doctor didn’t tell me I’d need to come back eventually for another biopsy and I know the chances of a benign nodule becoming cancerous is super low but I probably will get it retested eventually. I won’t be as nervous this time bc I pretty much know what to expect.

Did an ultrasound last week on the thyroid area. Doctor's office called me today and said that they found enlarged lymph nodes and wants me to get a biopsy on that region. I would be lying if I said I wasn't a little afraid and nervous not only about the procedure, but for the results. Regardless, I know that God has got me and will give me the strength to overcome this fear. I have faith. On 14 May 2024 I got my biopsy done on between my neck and chest part around the colar bone I was terrified as hell and was also watching all these videos Then my turn came and they take me to the doctor and he talked to me and saw my neck throungh ultrasound and then he gave me a injection to numb the area at the spot it was just like a normal injection and pain remain for 6-7 seconds and after that i don’t feel any pain and my biopsy was done in 15-20 min in total and they all were very nice so guys dont worry and get it done for your better health❤️

They put lidocaine in my neck before procedure, I didn’t feel a thing. However the thought of it was cringy i tensed up until it was over. They sent to labs to make sure they got enough cells and if it wasn’t enough they’d have to go back in to take a chunk of it out. Lucky me they had enough cells 😅

@Deniz Cansever thank you! All are benign, which im so happy about. One is a cystic nodule in the middle of my throat that is 3.5mm. It causes me the worst discomfort. I'm currently in a stage deciding if I want a removal of the middle section / and possibly right thyroid gland (partial thyroidectomy). The biopsy was easy. There was moderate discomfort and slight pain for 3 days. It took about 15 mins to complete. They even drained my nodule of fluid. It felt better for 5 days, until it filled back up with more fluid. My ultrasound shows I have 5 nodules & 1 simple cyst on my right thyroid lobe & 2 nodules, 1 simple cysts & 1 complex cyst on my left thyroid lobe. Total 7 nodules, 2 simple cysts & 1 complex cyst. My right lymph node is swollen too. It’s a multinodular goiter. UGH Mine isn’t noticeable at all. My neck looks totally normal. No bulging goiter like many people with this condition. I’m really scared about this & my first appt isn’t until a month from now. I knew my thyroid was causing all my horrible symptoms, but never imagined it was gonna be this bad. I just hope & pray none of these are cancerous.

I just came home from this very procedure and I had to do it twice from same place. It was extremely uncomfortable and I was soo soo scared as well the jerk movement hurt a little and the further it went it was sooo uncomfortable and it felt like someone has put a sharp object through my neck n it was hard to swollow Didn't like it but wasn't extremely painful but wasn't without pain either. I had mine today and after reading all these comments thought I'd be fine. The nurse even said it might feel uncomfortable but shouldn't hurt. Well I tell you it hurt like hell. I cried out and felt like I was gonna pass out with the pain. 6 hours later and my throat is still sore when I swallow and hurts to cough. The needle going in was fine but when it started prodding around in the nodule, it nearly lifted me off the table. I must point out though that I've had a sore throat for years and couldn't quite pin point where it was hurting. Well that bloody needle sure found the mark! I'm really scared that it's cancerous because everyone is saying it shouldn't hurt and that the nodules shouldn't hurt. Even the doc doing the biopsy said my sore throat must be something else cos the nodule wouldn't hurt. Well it bloody well did!

I went through this two days back and leaving a comment as a help for anyone who is going to face this! Don’t worry about the procedure at all.. I was worrying too but it was something very simpler than my worry.. my doctor gave me numbing injection and it was just very lil painful (for me it was leas painful than a regular vaccine on arm) then immediately he started taking samples and he said what he’s gonna do next and was asking whether I am doing okay. Yeah I was totally okay and he inserted the biopsy needle 3 times. We don’t feel it at all; just lil pressure only.. Then they put a ice bag and giving after care instructions. Like don’t lift too much weight for next 24 hrs. Actually even I thought after numbing med wearing off I’d feel pain but it was not.. only just lil tightness when swallowing.. so don’t worry guys! @@1bluegreen2 It did not bother swallowing. However I think I did not swallow at the time the needle is inserted. But after it’s taken out I talked one two words as dr was asking how I am feeling. Don’t worry it doesn’t hurt 🙂 keep in mind the after care.. don’t lift weight at least for 2 days.

This is wild. I don't hope I don't have cancer. I cant figure out what my problem is. I went to my dentist and oral surgeon last week to be evaluated about my recent dark spot in my mouth that has appeared again after years. The oral surgeon offered me a biopsy, and he said it would cost over $1,000 with my insurance. I had so many health problems since 2008 when I graduated high school. As for the month and throat problem, the roof palate of my mouth turned dark brown/black in 2017 or 2018. I had a black doctor at the time. He told me nothing was wrong with my mouth and black people have darker gums. He ignored my symptoms. Months and years later, my tonsils have been completely swollen and they never went down. The back of my mouth is always red, and there are small lumps hidden below my tonsils. I did go to an otolaryngologist (ENT) last year. He looked and immediately said my tonsils need to be removed. I still think there is something more going on. I have also been dizziness with vertigo since February. I have a neurologist appointment on May 3. My mouth and throat has been red and swollen since 2017 or 2018. It looks hideous.

Hi, I have a thyroid. And already did the FNAB (fine needle). But, based on the result, the doctor said that I need to do a core biopsy. Because from the biopsy that I did before, the results are unclear. Is it true that the result from FNAB (fine biopsy) can be unclear?

Unfortunately i had a butcher not a doctor do my biopsy, I had to have 5 nodules biopsied.....3 on the one day, came back for the other 2..So much pain on each one,i was grabbing the side of the bed in pain...End result 5 months later i am still in pain.....It looks like he has damaged a nerve. Back to the specialist soon to find out what the butcher*doctor* has done. Procedure was done at AUSPATH PATHOLOGY AT NORTHMEAD..

Hi guys. Had this done today in Nigeria. Before going for the test I read comments here abd I was super scared. I got there and asked questions. The doctor said it wasn’t so painful and he didn’t numb me. I was asked not to shake too much or swallow. They scanned the neck again and put the gel on it. I wasn’t painful at all but it was just uncomfortable cos obviously there’s a needle in your neck. You’d feel weird later tho (as you should). Cos something was in your neck. Pain level 1/10. Go and do your FNAC. Goodluck! ❤️

I'm getting a FNA biopsy 😢 tommorow (Jan 5) on my 1.7 cm heterogebeously hypoechoic TR4 nodule.. Im getting the lidocaine shot, hopefully it doesnt sting too much and burns too? Then i hope im numb enough for the procedure . Ive been having several panic attacks too!!! I pray it goes smoothly and its benign too..

It was the worst pain I ever experience. Don’t believe it’s not painful. I had it done twice. The needle that numbs you is the worst.

I really hope your comment doesn't discourage anyone from getting this medical procedure done. Comments like this could scare individuals away from getting a biopsy done that in the long run could potentially end up saving their lives. Biopsys are needed to catch cancer and help assist with treatment. We should be encouraging everyone to get needed medical tests & not discouraging and scary them away from it. Your comment was really unnecessary and don't understand why you felt the need to post it. This can be a scary procedure for some, and we should be helping and encouraging individuals who will be going through it and not trying to scare them away from it. This video should be filled with positivity, encouragement and reinforcement. Not negativity! ❤

The 2nd biopsy was much better. The 1st one was done by a radiologist who shouldn’t of done it. The 2nd was done by endocrinologist.

atz pnr the procedure itself was not painful (had it done yesterday). Afterwards I did experience soreness when swallowing, laughing or moving my head too much. I took acetaminophen (the generic name for tynenol) last night and it did help with the pain / soreness.

@@Icywar My nodule was benign thankfully. It was 3 cm which is part of the reason my endocrinologist insisted on a biopsy. Despite the size, he did say that the majority of nodules are benign but the biopsy was necessary to definitively rule out malignancy. In my case there was fluid present in the nodule. That was drained first. Then two more needle insertions for the biopsy. I was nervous but the procedure for me was mildly uncomfortable (I could feel the needle) but over relatively quickly. I didn't like the idea of a needle in my neck but when it wasn't as bad as I thought it might be. Hope this helps and all the best to you

Uhhhhh…whoever did a lot of your biopsies, I wish they had done mine. The guy who did mine was ultra-aggressive with the needle. I had it done earlier today and it hurt like Hell. He kept ramming the needle in and out like he was doing a 1950’s style lobotomy except on my thyroid. He was NOT gentle at all. It lasted about 2 minutes and he did it four times. I’m not a whiny baby sissy-pants either but I’m pretty sure he hit every single nerve in my neck and thyroid. Yes, he “numbed” it but that didn’t seem to do anything except numb the skin area. I have a bruise the size of Texas and I can’t even touch the area because of pain, much less move my move my head or even my arm. So, my guess is that your experience will depend on who does your procedure. My guy was obviously a sadistic demon. Good luck to the rest of you. 🫣
