I recently found your channel, subscribed, and binge-watched past videos. I love how you explain your reasoning behind each decision and you look at fabric content and garment structure. It is really helping my clothing choices.

Definitely going toward navy!! Black is too harsh for me.

I’m not a fan of the flannel shirts either but I do have one that is fairly fitted and is a very light weight flannel. I accept that I do like quite a bit of structure.

I was wondering if you could do a video on how to put clothing away for storage in a way that is safe and prevents damage when it is stored?

I will add this topic to the list for upcoming videos. Super important.

Hi Kristen! I just found your channel yesterday and I’ve been enjoying your video topics. I do a seasonal switch as I live in a 4season area. I love all your striped tops and sweaters. I joke that stripes are my favorite color. I’m so happy to find your channel because I also never wear black. I’m looking forward to seeing how you use other neutrals and getting ideas for my own wardrobe. My neutrals are primarily navy, white/cream, olive and chocolate brown. Looking forward to getting more inspiration from you!

Yes, I pack away my clothes by season as well. I love my sweaters and can’t wait to get them out. It’s like getting a whole new wardrobe when I switch out for the next season. Thankful that we live in an area with all four seasons.

Hi Kirsten, love your channel. Would you consider making a video for cocktail attire? I find everything out there is either too frothy and frilly or very country club. My style is much like yours and while I do just fine with casual or smart casual , the cocktail attire really defeats me.

Oh, I love that idea! Yes. I'll make one about cocktail attire to post in early October. Thanks for your kind words.

@KristenCainStyle Sorry I misspelled your name. Also I loved that earth toned shirt you said you loved but you said you don't wear as much because it isn't blue...have you considered pairing it with turquoise jewelry? Blue near the face is very flattering, it will play off well with the colors on the shirt and it will be in keeping with the general spirit of the area you live in.

Your comment about blue being more authentic really struck me. I realized that I feel the same. This knowledge will help me going forward, not buying things that do t feel authentic to me. I have similar coloring as you also.

Boy here in Amarillo we never need a layer over shirts unless air conditioning is too high.
@tracyhuckaby58763 ай бұрын
I was born and raised in Amarillo and have been in Cayon for the last 30 years. I totally agree that we don't get to layer very often. I think the last time I layered was when my kids were in Marching Band and it wasn't even cute layering. My youngest graduated from HS 9 years ago.

I always hated fall because living in NW Washington, I needed to start wearing heavy coats. I hated the weight and constriction. I felt like I was in a straight jacket. The solution was to move to Southern California, then Arizona.

What rolling rack do you recommend? I bought one on Amazon which quickly broke but I love having a rail as a tool and I'd like one that will last.
@KristenCainStyle3 ай бұрын
The one seen here is from Amazon. I've had it for a year. It's fairly sturdy and easy to move around. I've had a wooden rack also that I purchased from Amazon. Sold it when we moved because it wasn't easy to take apart. I have a heavy-duty, folding version in chrome that's more industrial. It's very sturdy and I take it with me to client's homes for edits. I'd check the reviews on Amazon before trying another one. They are usually super helpful.

I want to start shopping my closet for my upcoming flight to Ft. Collins, but I’m stuck! My eyes just seem to glaze over whenever I walk into my closet to get started. Living in Fort Worth TX, I’m not used to layering. I think I have enough tops, sweaters, jackets, coats, jeans, pants & shoes to do it, I just don’t know what goes with what in terms of color, weight, and styles to be sure I’m warm enough in CO. And look good😉 My brain is tired & what I need now is a nap! Please help! Thank you in advance!

I won't be able to wear my cozy sweaters until January. 😢 Texas winters are short and sweet.
@user-ei8rb7sj6c3 ай бұрын
I agree, except it isn’t so sweet when we Texans get several days of ice and sleet. Our road crews just aren’t equipped to handle it. I stay home by the fireplace during those spells when I can. Do you remember the February the Super Bowl was in Dallas? My late hubby (God rest his sweet soul) and I were iced in for days! Luckily we had plenty of dry firewood. He got so bored he recovered our dining room chairs in a cute black & white check fabric I had squirreled away!😂

Can you explain what you mean when you say you go thrifting ?
@KristenCainStyle3 ай бұрын
Gladly... I visit one or more secondhand/thrift shops in search of 'new' treasures to add to my wardrobe. Often I go with my daughter, sometimes my sons also, and we make an outing of it. I'm happy to come home with nothing if nothing feels like a treasure.

Leopard belts became part of my signature style several years ago. I look for them everywhere! The one I'm wearing is old Target - A New Day. I actually just purchased a replacement of this same belt on Poshmark this week! Target no longer carries it. The ones hanging (there are two) are thrifted. J. Crew and Gap usually have them also. Thanks for asking!
