This can only be done by a cleric, or a MAN with gloves on. The councils of the church condemned any lay person touching the sacred vessels

Well then they are wrong! What would Jesus think of what you said? As long as someone handles the items with clean hands and reverently it’s ok! Millions of regular people have handled these items, and the world did not end!

Jesus speaks through the authority of his church, which has infallibly taught that Clerics or only those with a sacristan blessing (male or nun) can handle the sacred vessels. The priests hands are consecrated with chrism to touch the sacred vessels for a reason. Such a lack of reverence for the sacred vessels, and the common knowledge or the devaluing of such sacred things shows a profound lack of the fear of the Lord

The Alter Guild in the Anglican Church has the solemn duties of preparing the Alter, Chalice, Sanctuary and Credance Table for the Holy Eucharist. We are all lay women who highly value the sacred objects and task of preparing for the Holy Eucharist.

I've watched various post on this theme. Most are a load of mumbo jumbo, folding the veil, laying it this way and that. This is a simple, yet informative post. I thank you. 👍

I am an altar server and my church doesn't veil the chalice. Instead, we put it on the table beside the altar.

I was an altar boy for 20 years at the traditional Latin mass. A priest told me that the "sagrestano" (the main altar boy) could.

get your unconsecrated hands off the chalice. You do not have any authority to touch such vessels
