This was extremely helpful. Thank you so much. As a nascent reporter in the post-Covid world, it's been difficult to sit in with other reporters. I sometimes feel like school only prepared me for speed but not the human interaction part. I feel like I don't know what I'm doing and that increases my anxiety, which then reflects in my writing. Thanks again for this detailed and informative video.

I've reported for 25 years, and this is the first time I've seen reporter stickers for the attorneys. Great idea. I always put my CSR number after my name for remote reporting. The judges appreciate it. You can put your email address in the comment section. I recently had a witness ask for a "bio break."

Is anyone registered to classes in the LA county area? Even if you're not- what program are you attending and how do you like it thus far? I am trying to save up so I can attend and it is hard to find this info. 🙃

Is a contested hearing conducted the same way by the court reporter, or is there any difference in how it is conducted compared to a standard deposition ? I have only done depositions. I am a new reporter and have my first contested hearing Thursday. Any advice? I don't know what to expect. Will I also be the one swearing the witness in like I usually do in depositions? Thanks for the help.
