I did this job back when it was 2 tape recorders a sound mixer and microphones. We later moved to digital recording equipment. I stopped doing it to pursue more stable work. But I do miss the work I'm looking to get back into it now if possible. I did this for over 10 yrs before I left the industry.

We can work on our PC or have to buy a laptop when working at home? How much remote work now would be available in 2022? Have to take a certification or no? What if you need more time to finish course? I am currently a legal transcriptionist, previously a legal secretary since 1979.

Laptop. Whether you can work remotely depends on the company you work for and the needs of your state. Most states require you to have a notary license, so you can administer the oath to the deponent/witness. The notary process depends on your states. Some states only require an application and orientation while other states require an exam and application. Some states don't require you to be a notary. The course is self-paced, taking an average of two to eight weeks depending on how many hours you devote to it per week.
