Awesome! Love the kid's hideaway! The glass insert was genius. Not sure why wavy borders are bad, maybe lawn maintenance workers dislike them? Or maybe from a design standpoint, curves are better than wavy? Great design for the yard, glad they included the arbors.

I had the same thought. I follow a few landscape architects and they seem to favor the curves. I think maybe for this particular client they were wanting more modern like their house reno thus more straight lines.

What if it rains Or in winter? What to do with the upholstery? Even those of the children. Wasn't there a carpet there too? Is there an upholstery cover? Taxus baccata has poisonous fruits that are incompatible with children and pets. And the glass floor is definitely very slippery when it gets wet.

I have watched 7 or 8 episodes so far and I enjoy your brainstorming and creative process. I love that the videos focus on LD and installation-that is why I watch. I’m tired of some (HGTV/Bravo -Backyard Envy, for example) shows that feel their viewers want 2day make overs, or discussion of designers’ personal lives. Thank You for LD content! One negative, please find a new designer and there is no need to show Lisa shopping, or have Lisa on video at all.

Tearing out the round patio was just sad. Even the new deck hardly interfered. What's with all the straight lines? Still could've had all that and maintained the unique rounded patio. Loved the kids area under the otherwise unused deck space.

Nice, but why untreated wood directly in the ground, and why not use metal plates to cover the driveway when bringing in material instead of ruining the ground

Hi from Australia, quick question as we don’t get snow in our area, would the glass get slippery when wet, icy and when it snows ?? Love everything else.

Why does it have to be modernized? What would these guys say if they came to Versailles and see all the embellishments, especially the geometrically laid out gardens... "We must modernize this!" Just because it is not "modern" does not make it negligible.

It’s a beautiful garden but I was sad that you are getting rid of the opposums. They are not rodents or vermin. They are marsupials. And they are nature’s little garden cleaners, particularly if you have a snail problem.

I find straight lines of trees and plants very artificial and regimented looking. Grouping plants in irregular clumps is much more appealing to me.

Enjoy these guys' show, but feel like they missed the mark on this design (and a lot of their other ones, too, in my opinion). Perhaps it's a matter of taste as I'm not too keen on modern designs overall, preferring a more naturalistic look, but the final design for this show looked more like a set than an actual living space. Also, these guys have a irritating propensity for straight lines and bleak plantings. I see nothing wrong with the curved beds from the original garden - they may make the space feel smaller by not giving the eye a long axis that might "extend" the space, but the curved lines accentuate the existing trees. I also hate seeing the plants arranged in lines like soldiers. I see this in landscaper's work a lot these days and it really just speaks to a lack of knowledge about composition. Looks more cookie-cutter than anything. The glass panel also looked odd (I understand that they wanted light to the basement), and the open area in the deck looks like great habitat for all kinds of animals, bugs, and debris. Wouldn't want my kids anywhere near that.

For some reason I didn't like this design, I have seen better ones especially where people design their own, has anyone seen texas tropical gardening, the residents do up their own gardens with little pools and so on and it is amazing, this was a total waste of money for a garden that size, I would have designed it more adventurous. Does anyone else see Lisa attracted to Chris? or is it just me?

Who is chris? I was thinking through the show that she did NOT like Billy, but he liked her. Then I went to the beginning clip trying to find Chris, and who I thought was Billy was James!!!
