Love the design. Glad they listened to the clients and gave them what they wanted. Nice timing; new nextdoor neighbors won't even know their driveway used to be wider. The developer that bought that house can always widen the driveway on HIS side.

It took me a minute to figure out what was meant by the term 'in-fill' house. Yikes, no more side yard, roofs overhang each other, houses peering into each other's bedrooms and baths. Two parts concrete to one sponge h2o, Lol. Love the stairs and walking approach. The only thing the new neighbour might dislike more than loosing part of their parking is having a biffy parked out front! When the plantings fill in will they still be able to open their car doors? Yeah for reusing the interlock. Hopefully it won't grow up with weeds this time.

Such a beautiful and welcoming design. The original drive made it all dreary and boring, which is most certainly not the case now 😍💖

Still wonder how the neighbors 1. decided to pave the next-door's propery 2. handled having it removed?

Personally I would have not put the little trees in there , think it cuts the view to the house but anyway it is really nice. Love the visual seperation of the drive way 👍🏻

Should the walk way be shifted to the right making the two flower beds equal width? The one to the right is wider than the one to the left.

This is a really nice design. But as usual they've put too many trees into too small of a space. In a couple of years the front walk will be unusable because the trees will meet. ( Chanticleer pears get about 20' wide and 30' tall.) The plantings are done to look mature on day one, but on day 1000, it will be a problem.
@jhutch16812 жыл бұрын
If money is no object, I'd opt for more trees now for the full effect, and thin them out later if needed.

Euonymus coloratus is a climbing invasive maintenance pain in the neck. If not constantly trimmed it's going to eat and choke out those hydrangeas and pears. BAD, bad choice!!! Love the hardscape, the planting not so much.

Ah, great job. But alas... no feedback of the finished product about the neighbour's driveway! Did they complain or what?!
@cathyblackhall34484 жыл бұрын
It wasn’t their property.They said the previous neighbour had taken it upon themselves to tarmac it all but overstepped the property line.They were just reclaimed it.

3 more trees on the side of the driveway please. It requires the balance.
@jhutch16812 жыл бұрын
I think that many trees would be overwhelming for the small front yard. Perhaps the alternative would have been to do two rows on opposite sides of the property, instead of both sides of the walk. Also, the client considered that, and wanted something lower on the other side.

I would be concerned about the utilities/waste line. Roots are destructive. Maybe the lines are under the driveway?
