Nicely done. You should have more subs!!!
@BBBonYT4 жыл бұрын
Ha, thanks! Definitely working on progressing the projects and taking them out on adventures. Hopefully that turns into subs and allows me to continue screwing around with cars. Thanks for watching!

What about galvanic corrosion issue in the spacers area?
@BBBonYT4 жыл бұрын
Everything currently is in a Proof of Concept state, and once it's all verified, we're gonna be addressing all the little issues like that. Thanks for watching!

Which year is your XC70?? Looks like a 2005 or 2006?? The headlights on yours have front sprayers. The 2004 XC70 was thelast model with the headlight wipers (that I know of).
@BBBonYT2 ай бұрын
Bingo! 2006 XC70. I had to remove the washer fluid reservoir and most of the lines, so there won't be much headlight squirting on this beast! Thanks for watching!

Do you need spacer for the drive shaft holder under body? Thanks a lot
@BBBonYT4 жыл бұрын
Yup! We are fabricating a bracket to move it backwards a bit so that it will still engage the rear differential. It will all be shown on an upcoming episode. Thanks for watching!!

Epic build man! Can you share me the diameters used on your spacers? Will make my order for material easy before ill pull my subframes;) I got a xc70 with a bad steeringhouse.. so have to get it loose anyway, then why not lift it a bit! Thanks and good luck!
@BBBonYT3 жыл бұрын
Thanks, I am glad you like the content! The spacers are 1" thick and are different diameters. If you pause the episode on the yellow post it note, you can get all the info you need :) Thanks for watching!

What were the measurements for the new bolts?

Everything was reordered at the OEM length plus 25mm to account for the spacers.

Love the build buddy.. What are the lift spec's? I would love to lift my xc70..
@BBBonYT4 жыл бұрын
The full kit as of now is: homebrew 1" subframe spacers front and rear, 2" Bad Swede/XC70liftkit.com lift springs, and 32" tires. The tires WILL NOT fit without a considerable amount of modification. The forums are chalk full of people who have done similar lifts without the large tires fairly easily without body modifications. Good luck!

Is it possible to get the dimensions of the subframe spacers? I would like to make my own and to this on my XC70. Thanks in advance!

Absolutely. If you pause the video at 4:09, you can see my post-it note with the outer dimensions and the through hole dimensions on it. Good luck! :)

@@aleksanders2686 Check out Episodes 3 + 4. We haven't put it on the wheels completely yet. I would ask around in the Facebook groups and forums. Nobody has run tires this big, so there's really no way to say. Good luck!

You have to be very careful cutting aluminum with abrasive cutters, the Al sticks in the cutting wheel not only making it not cut as well but putting it off balance which can cause the disk to break apart at speed. There are wax lubricants available that make cutting a lot faster and safer.
@BBBonYT4 жыл бұрын
Trust me, I spent a ton of time trying to work out a quicker solution, but in the end I wanted to get it done, even though it is far from ideal. The wax you mention seems interesting tho. Can you let me know what kind it is? Should help out a lot in the future. Thanks for watching!

Hello Where did you get the wheel adapter, and how much did it cost?
@BBBonYT4 жыл бұрын
Hey! I got the spacers/adapters from adaptitusa.com, and I would HIGHLY recommend them to anyone looking for spacers or adapters. They know a ton about spacers and adapters, and were super helpful to deal with! They also had the most reasonable prices of the 10 companies I reached out to. Good luck!

You can cut aluminum with a standard wood saw blade (circular saw) Just like cutting wood ......Doesn't get hot and clog your blade....
