FEAnalyst, Thanks for the videos, they are very good. One question, compound creation, is it in order to share the mesh and also make the pieces stick together?

Exactly, compound part creation makes the mesh continuous. Otherwise, the parts would be disconnected. This can be visualized with modal analysis.

You can use datum planes and the "Part Slice to compound" tool for that.
