@ Mahalakshmi .Under ..The river flows under the bridge( a position below).. A subway goes under the road ( we can see the subway entrance) We were under British rule till 1947 . He climbed up the stairs with difficulty as he was under the weight of suitcases. Anyone here under 18 years of age . He writes comments under the name of someone else.. She is still under the influence of her parents. Under means below, lower, beneath.. But usage varies.. Underneath means beneath, lower..but hidden from sight The missing key was underneath a set of files. Pick up the stone and see what's underneath. Have you painted the underneath of the table..
