In suburbia of the 60's the parents had lived through the great depression, and most homes had pantries. A few shelves of canned goods outside the kitchen, usually bought by the case when on sale. A case of canned corn, another of green beans, boxes of pasta, stacks of bags of dried white navy beans. That's just how it was done back then. Four generations later and people that do this are considered extremists.

Thanks for watching and the way mom and dad (who lived during the depression) cooked was reminiscent of their childhoor, so I grew up eating a lot of "depression era" meals

Interesting haul Lee . My Great Uncle gave George A. Hormel a dollar towards starting costs of Hormel comany in Austin Minnesota the home of spam. They now have a spam museum there and still make spam, bacon and a whole bunch of other products.

Wish my hubby was as organized as you, bless him. He works hard though. 💙 We definitely have different tastes in food. I don't like sardines, Spam or Chinese food. Lol. But if I'm hungry enough, I won't care, right? TFS.

Thanks for watching - when Helen asks what I want to eat I don't think I've ever asked for sardines or spam, but, have eaten enough of them.

Along with each Vesta stove or Buddy propane heater - dedicate * a Jackery or other power supply/ battery/ solar generator to run * an air filter in that room (for fumes), and * a carbon monoxide detector, and * a smoke detector. I prefer separate carbon monoxide and smoke detectors. Carbon monoxide sinks so the detector/ alarm must be low in the room, and smoke generally rises so the detector must be high in the room.

Thanks for watching - depends on where you are in the timeline and where they are in the political spectrum - if they have high faith in the government and it is early in the timeline, they'll have a normalcy bias and believe that the government is on the way. Preppers will most likely hunker down. Those who are anti-government - criminals, gang members, etc. will begin to take advantage of those waiting for the government.

Tickets might work if people want and respect order. Personally, I don't see it happening, there is always that dose of jealousy in people that leads to "issues". Nice motive though, helping others is a GOoD thing, also a huge weakness in any "underprivileged" (less fortunate, not well off) society. Making a target of yourself in a loud manner is never a good thing to do.
@ColdWarPrepper2 ай бұрын
Well said, thanks for watching. My intention is to not go outside for a while after the "die off" - a trusted member will come get the pot and food, the masses will have to provide water and heat. I am hoping that the small group left over will quickly coalesce into a mutually supportive group.
