so you have no access to timber what would you put by for an emergency situation or a grid down stand by or your going camping and dont want to take from the wild

Thanks for sharing Micky. I've used something like the compressed log in a fire pit ( more of a Brick shape on the ones I used ). Worked way better than expected in the fire pit, TOTAL failure in the smaller Fire Box stove. Gotta love sciene, Atb, John

cheers brother burnt a bit quick in the box but that was to be expected

Thanks Mick. I wish I had a stove like that for outside. Might be a better option than the raging fires I have in a tumble dryer drum... which is fun though.

Great video - I'm considering getting one in place of my garden chimnea. It seems far more versatile.

Ironically the machine in the background sounds like a wood chipper.

In a nutshell, yes! I sort of did it. I lived in a council house a while back. It had the usual leccy fire in the frontroom, although ours was gas, with an older 40s style fireplace, with its two part, odd shaped back brick behind. It also had a top iron vent, just out of sight. I removed the front, gas fire (seek advice) I cleared the brick out, and the rubble behind and sold the back brick for £15. I then realised that without major remodelling, I would have to find a unit to go in front of the chimney breast because the opening wasn't very big. In a nutshell... I found a massive 7.5 kW stove. It sat on the hearth. It had side windows. It had a top and back chimney hole. But it had to go in the top because the hole in the brest was too low. It worked. I cut and made good, a hole in the chimney (seek advice) and I elbowed it in. So. You must have a firm base. Screw it down if small or light. Only use a chimney and NEVER a flew. Cheers 🇬🇧
