It's important to wash the rice, as mentioned you remove the starch, but more importantly they often contain a lot of arsenic. Recent research revealed much higher concentration than previously known. I wash my mushrooms under running water, all that soil can result in an upset stomach. It usually doesn't matter that they absorb water, unless you are going to eat them raw.

Hi Granny, 😊 hope you are doing ok. We never get much rain (in desert) near Palm Springs but its nice you got some rain. I usually wash my mushrooms with cold water. Love your cooking videos. Nice to have company for dinner or lunch. I buy Uncle Ben's microwave rice -- have several varieties go in microwave for 90 seconds. Turns out great lots for two meals. I cook salmon stuffed with crab or feta and spinach from Kroger in the oven for about 20 to 25 minutes. make enough for two meals for us. We are small eaters. I like to cook/bake, but I love one pot dinners. I love baking carrots, onions, potatoes, apples and a chuck roast in the oven. I like baking in the oven alot, this way I am not having to stand over eyes on the stove all the time.

You can use the end of a teaspoon to pop the lids too. You put it right under the lid push it down and it will pop the lid

Also I ran into an elder lady that had always brought her dog to the vet because of ear infections and the vet told her to use canesten ansld she said it's been a game changer. I use it now on my dog. Works awesome

We have a slight chance of rain today.............I would love that!I love mushrooms and petite sweet peas!I dont eat white rice.........once in a while i will eat Knorr fried rice in a package. I do exactly what you do with my mushrooms.........soak your mushrooms and you lose most of the Nutrional value not to mention the taste.Oh no........not hospital canned peas!!!!!
