When Alexa read the scripture I burst into tears, it was everything I needed to hear. Building our relationships with God shouldn’t feel like unwilling work and she is absolutely right in that the only way we can know him is through his words. We can pray and I do but it often feels one sided and that’s because the response is in his scripture. That is how I need to seek his comfort and love, thank you for reminding me. I also think to Carlos’ points that reading can be difficult and it isn’t for everyone, perhaps listening to others read would be effective or music that others have written might be another way to overcome this?

Reading the Biblie is for everyone. The only way to hear God is through his Scripture. We talk to him when we pray and we hear his voice through Scripture. Maybe your point was that we can also hear audibles of the Bible. But IT needs to be the Bible, nothing can replace it. I also struggle to set time apart to read. A study Bible can help. I recomend Macarthur Study Bible.

About the reading the bible topic: I'm currently a flight attendant and I just started bringing my Bible with me on trips. Since we are not doing a food service because of Covid, on longer flights I start to read scriptures. I want to start getting more into the word because I'm also one who struggles with pushing myself into reading it in my free time. So far I'm learning so much.

I struggled to read the word, and God has changed the way I see the Word. Basically with all the chaos in the world and everything changing in America , I don't want to be led astray. I want to be the virgin with her lamp filled with oil, waiting for the Return of our Lord. I need his word to Prepare me , to show me the schemes of Satan , to help lead a family ! His guidance is at our fingertips , and when I hear something that doesn't line up with God's word I will not follow it. Also the testimonies of the Saints and their struggles help me and how they saw God in move in their lives is so encouraging ♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️

Carlos, you're not alone Brosef. I'll be praying for you brother. Here's something I do and it helps me a ton. Before I open up the Bible, I think about the God who I serve, and who He is, literally, I think about Him creating the earth in 6 days, or raising Lazarus from the dead. Sometimes we just say the Christian-ese but don't take the time to meditate on what He's literally done. He literally said "light" and BOOM, light was created. Take some time and think about that before opening up the Bible, and then think...... Ummm Yea, that same God wrote a book. He wrote it and a worm....like me... can read it. WHAT!!! I don't even rate, yet, we serve a gracious God and we are able to read his words. Good luck Brother In Him. J.

wow wow wow, Carlos and Alexa, y'all will never truly understand the impact that the last five minutes of your video had on me tonight (while I'm watching this.) I have had the hardest time enjoying reading the Word and spending time with God, so I kind of just gave up. I gave up because I felt like I was failing in my ability to understand who God really is. BUT being reminded that this is a RELATIONSHIP that will take WORK reminds me that it is a process and I need to have compassion on myself. God is compassionate and gracious, so I need to be compassionate and gracious with myself. Thank you for using this platform to honor the Lord and help other believers.

Now I am not one for ever writing in the comments but I would just like to say that I have been following you guys for a while now and I have loved seeing you guys grow in your faith and grow your family. You guys have helped me a lot in my own faith. Today my fathers coworkers wife passed away from cancer and I have just felt led to do something for him because they had little to no faith or hope in their lives before she passed. So what I am going to do is go to my youth group and ask them to just write on this card telling him that we love him and that he is not alone, (I’m apart of this thing called students leadership with my youth pastor where we help him come up with ideas for Wednesday night services and helping our community) so I was just hoping that everyone would keep my fathers coworker in your prayers and to let him grow to love what God has given him. I have definitely struggled with my faith and my relationship with God before. My father has gone through a few health scares in the past few years so after he went through his last one, I was very angry with God because I couldn't understand why He would let these things happen to my father. I feel like now I am able to get back to praying and asking Him for help when I need it. We all go through those valleys and those peaks...sometimes those peaks seem like mountains that we'll never get over. I'm getting through it now but it was very hard in the past. You guys are amazing and I love your videos no matter how long or how short they are. Loved you all since Day 1.

My church at the beginning of the year was giving away chronological study bibles and I have been reading it. I started it about a month and a half ago and it has been so eye opening and helpful to get into gods word. It breaks it down into days so that you don’t get overwhelmed. I love the places that they stop sometimes cause it stops it right at a moment that your like what happened what comes next and it makes you excited to read the next day

I totally feel the difficult to read your Bible thing! I was having difficulty reading because I wanted to learn but nothing seemed applicable to my situation (I’ve been in and out of the hospital for the past year and I’ve had 7 brain surgeries in that time) but I remembered that the Bible has so many different genres within it, there’s action, and supernatural occupancies, heart warming stories that lift your spirits, and music.(especially in the book of Psalm. ) So I asked the Lord for a book that was applicable and made sense for what I needed to hear from Him and for what I could/ needed to learn from and about him in that time and that’s what He gave me.

I just recently started Bing watching your videos and I am a fan of both of y'all as actors and now as parents. As I started watching your KZbin channel I noticed y'all always make time to talk about God and the awesome things he does and watching this video particularly about relationship with God, I've always thought that I struggled with the word of God with my Adhd and the way it was portrayed to me. I lost my faith in going to church and in God 8-10 years ago, but deep down I always felt like he was still there in my life. This wow moment has made me realize that there is more to life than just working all the time. I need to get my faith back not only in God but in myself to be the version of myself.

It's a challenge for me, but I love how you decided that you want to get to know God more and write music about him, In order to do that you have to dive into the Bible. I think a lot of believers struggle with reading the Bible. I know I do. The Bible app plans really help me learn what verses to turn to and the plans that go through each book help even more. Because they give you the context like a commentary which is so convenient for a busy momma like myself! I went to bible college but just don't have time to pull out commentaries like they recommended there! I think the pure want to know God and grow closer to Him, He'll speak volumes to you! I do struggle to try to really encourage myself to want to read the word. And, I feel like it's normal especially being young believers. Hi guys! First of all, thank you for doing that little talk at the end of your videos. I do agree with Carlos, I did struggle to read the Bible for the longest time. Recently I have been either listening by myself or listening as a Pastor explains it. I decided that I won’t read it just to read and complete the whole bible in 1 year. I am reading it at my own time, reading 1 chapter a day or even diving the chapter into 2 days if I feel like it has a lot of content in it. It is amazing that you guys share your faith with us and are not afraid to have those questions that we all had or will have at some point in our walk with Christ.

Just started watching your videos and love them! Totally agree with how reading the Word can sometimes be challenging. Anything that I put law (works) on I instantly notice myself not reading or struggling with, but when I am flowing under God's grace knowing its not based off of my performance, but based off of my righteousness in Jesus I read the Word way more often and flow more! With what you were saying about not having fun to read and finding it hard and eventually changing your perspective.. for me, I have trouble too. Instead of thinking of it as work, I think of it as having a desire. In order for me to learn more and do more, I find the desire to want to read and then it stops feeling like work and starts feeling like I’m doing something more productive or worth spending time on.

I have been struggling with his word. I have trouble remembering a lot of what I read. Remembering and needing to pray in rough times. It’s been hard for me. I want to thank you guys for this help in understanding & seeing this perspective. I’ll be praying for the family. Also a shoutout to my Dad. I want to thank him for all the times he’s mentioned what God does & what I need to do with God & for God. He’s so amazing, just like my Heavenly Father.

I think I use to really struggle with reading the word and that it use to feel like work, but the more I read and put in the work it slowly didn’t feel like work. I slowly got to the point where I needed the word❤️

That WOW really hit hard this time around. I just failed two quizzes for college tonight, and I need to know that it’s no big deal and it’s okay to make mistakes. I’ve also always struggled going to church and reading the Bible because it felt like work to me on top of my high school/college classes and my job.
