This is a perfect example of why I love this channel so much. Good content, some good laughs along the way, and nothing really scripted, minimal editing, and today was just a dad and generation 3 of performance enthusiast working on grandpas sweet Vette together and then taking it out for a ride. I grew up around muscle cars thanks to my dad, and this brought back all sorts of fond memories of him pinning me to the seat in the Chevelle I helped him restore as a kid. And the few times we drove it around the block with open headers while in primer... Liam will definitely remember this day forever, and don't be too surprised if he surpasses your knowledge in some areas one day, my dad is the one asking me questions about things now haha.

That last certainly hits home for me; I grew up in the 60s and my Dad with various British cars (Lol when I broke my collar bone as a very small child my Mom had to carry me to the Doc as he had the cylinder head off of the TR-4 at that moment). Later he moved to airplanes and got certified to do work on them so he could work on his small plane (Piper PA-12) but the last 20+ years he usually runs his automotive questions by me and we decide on a course of action from there. He's in his upper 80s now and one of his projects is restoring the TR-3 they bought new in the late 1950s; I think it'll wind up on me when he passes but being an engineer he has copious notes and diagrams as he went along dis-assembling it. Not a project I want at the moment but hopefully it's some years down the road yet or when they pass I'd be in a position financially and time wise to attempt it. He wants/wanted to recreate a picture with the TR of my Mom when they bought it Vs Restored but I don't think it happening. Maybe a posthumous one 70-80 Years later with my wife though as my parents look on and smile from Heaven :)

Speaking of aerodynamics UNDER the car......THE LATE LEGENDARY SMOKEY YUNICK WOULD BE PROUD OF YOU JEREMY!!! Does anyone remember the year in NASACR when Smokey's Chevelle didn't make the power that the other cars had, yet he could still run with them up front? The underneath of that car was "like a box turtle"........it was so slick. Smokey thought about the things that most others didn't in his day. He was truly ahead of his time for innovation, and almost single handedly FORCED Nascar to create all kinds of new rules........LOL. So many rules in fact, that Smokey felt they left no room for innovation. Of course the other teams called it "cheating"......LOL!!! YOU REMINDED ME OF SMOKEY TODAY JEREMY!!! Dad's Legend Vette seems to have more of a deeper "thump" to the exhaust note now.

@@jwright650 I tend to give Jeremy's knowledge a little more credit than that. Ya have to remember, Jeremy AND his business starting back with his Dad & his friends, has been into performance a heck of a lot longer than when Garrett came along. Not being a hater, I think the "Flows" sounded better, however, I know they don't "Flow" as good. I typically don't like the sound of "Flows" either, they just sound right and are era correct on this Vette.
@ONESTROKEJOKE695 жыл бұрын
I think I agree. Not that the new exhaust sounds bad at all, but the resonance from the flow masters gave it more mid-range and it filtered out some of the cackle in the high end and some of the rumble in the low end giving it a somewhat balanced tone. The new exhaust almost has a scooped sound with a very present low end rumble and high end cackle. Better performance is better performance so the tone of a race car is particularly irrelevant. But I'm an audio engineer so my perspective on the tone of car exhausts is quite a bit different than most people. I tend to dislike most cars I hear on the street.
