I agree, Bible says to prepare, both spiritually and physically.

Being prepared was the norm throughout history. Lackadaisical self inuldgent living is a recent phenomenon.

We have prepared as best we can and let God put us where we are. I do think it is inevitable something is going to happen, something serious Wisdom includes understanding the times. The times here and now say "be prepared" to live without the coveniences you are used to.

Hey pastor! KZbin recommended your channel to me today! Just subscribed. Totally agree with you, pastor! Have you seen the ancient Scandinavian green roof already? They still use it in the middle of the city today, but it is far more popular for cabins in the woods. The shack becomes cooler in the summer and warmer in the winter. For one looking into the woods, it seems more like a little mountain than a house. Google Scandinavian green roof so you can see. God bless you, man!

Isaiah 8:12 “Do not call conspiracy everything this people calls a conspiracy; do not fear what they fear, and do not dread it." Not only do we garden, can, ferment, dehydrate, pickle and cold store produce, but when we recently bought two bulk orders of fruit producing trees/shrubs we gave away half of them to help our neighbors and friends prepare. Anyone looking at the yard with the 1.700 square feet of garden, 14 fruit trees, 20 berry bushes and a grape vine know that we produce food for more than the summer fresh eating. When you see the truck and the car in the driveway you know we are not poor and garden because we desperately need to. When you see us load the truck to go to the range you know we have guns and ammo. When it is time to share a generator we have an extra and extension cords. When it is time to run a chain saw, we are there. So we do not hide the fact that we are preppers. Exactly what we have have, that's a need to know. When asked why we prep, I point out the pipeline hack, the local healthcare system hack, the derecho 4 years ago, the derecho 3 years ago that was less damaging, the winter blizzards, the worldwide disease that swept through, the summer tornado's, the port shutdowns, the possible rail strike, the possible violence in any city because of a cop shooting someone, and with just those things that have happened in the past few years, it makes sense to have some backup. Then when I point out the economic position of buying in bulk, gardening, and all the rest of having a pantry, that it doesn't cost extra, it actually saves money. For instance, we don't buy the small or medium laundry detergent, we wait until the 200 load jug is on sale and buy three. For the two of us, that's most of a year's laundry detergent for about 35 bucks. Where if we bought what we need every other week it would cost us at least three times that. Same thing with meat. We buy the big cryovac pieces and cut them down. We buy whole chickens. Three months ago I emptied a CD account of about $35,000. My banker asked (yes, I have a banker, not a clerk, it is good practice to discuss finances with a pro once in a while) what I was doing with the money I told him I'm making another investment in metals. He asked if I was buying online or locally, and I told him locally and where, and that I was getting a better deal than online. He's seen the house and garden, has been invited to the range, and point blank asked if I was a prepper. I said "How long ago was it that your bank couldn't even get rolls of change delivered regularly, and what did his family go without during the covid shutdowns? He said, OK, I understand. Hey, if it goes down, I'm coming to your house. I replied "Bring the kids, I'm going to be looking for some serfs to work the garden, dig an outhouse pit and dig a well. I'll clothe and shelter them, but they will work. You realize that in every crisis there is also opportunity, right?" Last time I saw him he asked me how the metals were doing. I told him honestly, up ten percent over purchase price. Final biblical reference, Joseph convinced Pharaoh to be a prepper. Joseph's brothers didn't prep at all. The descendants of the brothers became slaves of the Pharaoh's descendants for generations.

Im not preparing for the end of the world. But not having food/water/shelter to last even the most minor of emergencies is stupid. Have you never lost power? Have you never been snowed in? What if theres rioting in the street outside your door. Total system collapse? Alien invasion? But really though, the first was a regular occurrence growing up and we had a generator. Winters get really tough up north where I am. Its not unheard of to bunker down for a day or two because the roads are iced over and its -15 outside. Ive only recently started prepping but ive got many pounds of carbs and beans. Fruits and veggies are a work in progress.

Exacty, we each do what we have means and ability to do and always remember God’s comparison of how he takes care of every sparrow every day and how much more does he lives his children made after his own image as sons and daughters? It should be obvious except we see what happens to people without knowing all and all we can know is our own heart and our faith that may be weak but prayers to strengthen our faith is perfect for God is perfect in all things especially perfect in his love! God has many promises and we are told to claim them. We can simply claim his promises but we should at least read them a few times to know when we pray to claim God’s promises we know what we are claiming that our faith be built and all glory be given to God!

Well can't I just pray that I will be safe in the name of Jesus? And if you tell me that I have to do the thing that I'm praying for myself, does that mean that prayer doesn't work? I could do the thing myself without praying.

If you ask Jesus to move a mountain, don't be surprised when He hands you a shovel.
@PaxilRose26 күн бұрын
@@rongreiner3595 So I shouldn't bother asking? Just have some personal accountability and do it myself? How is that distinguishable from something that isn't there?
