This is how I feel about the love of my life. I met him 2 years ago. He's 63 and I'll soon be 67 years old...and I have to tell you folks that you can find your first -- and last -- real love, no matter what age you are.

I'll be 71 next Thursday. I am trying to get set free from an emotionally abusive relationship. I hope it is not too late to find a man I can love and who will love me. I needed to hear that. I am so beaten down by this man. It is awful. He won't leave.

list maker hey sweetheart I hope you find love again! Love has no age and has no limits I’m sorry that right now it might be tough but you stay strong and leave him! You might be feeling blue but don’t feel beaten down over him hun I promise things will get better and you will experience love again ☺️❤️

@@voyeurette1, Sorry to hear you stayed so long :( I gave up abuse & feared my ex would murder me for years ! I know the fear... I have been with my guy since I was 36 & he was 49 ! We are still together & I decided to marry him after 7 years together, refused before.... didn't want a man to think he owned me ! I refused to change my name & wanted to be thought of as an individual person, instead of a piece of property without feelings of my own, only an extension of him ! My husband did not deserve those fears... but they were there & he was understanding, caring, loving :) It can happen to you, but put down your foot if ANY abuse starts, don't allow it !!! In beginning my guy was very jealous.... I informed him that if he continued on this track that he would destroy our relationship & that he should choose to trust me & wait and see !!! He got the message & realized that he could trust me !!!

This was my best friend's favorite song. We were so close in high school. She got me into Etta James. She would play this song and twirl in her front yard with a magnolia in her hair. She drowned my junior year. This song started playing as I approached her casket and dropped a magnolia inside. That's how I knew she was there. Miss you, Clarissa. Always.

I lost a friend when I was sixteen too. It's hard but it's nice to see that you have something to remind her. In your case is a song, in mine is a pencil case she lent me, and I never had the chance to return it to her. Keep listening to Etta, that was a wonderful lesson your friend give it to you.

I was a young boy when this song was released. Anytime I hear this or some of the other classic love ballads of that time, I vividly remember listening to it in the dark on the radio. The local station had a show that started at 10pm, called "Starlight Serenade". What music! I had forgotten all about this song until I heard it played behind a tv commercial and it all came back. Wow. Was she great!

It's a kind of bittersweet and beautiful, when you listen to music from your childhood or younger days and it takes you back and you can almost feel like you were back in time. *Colby Herschberger* That's the spacial depth created by a low-intensity reverb. And a frugal, but carefully chosen arrangement of violinists, an orchestral bassist, a drummer, & a pianist. Probably the very best example of achieving the maximum effect with a bare minimum of musicians If this musical arrangement wasn't the decision-making of Leonard Chess himself, then I can't wait to find out who his orchestrator or his arranger was ☺

This was her favorite song and I took that as a sign she was watching over us. Also I just recently had my wisdom teeth taken out and have been in a lot of pain because of it and just had the urge to listen to her favorite song. Thankies to those whom recorded, produced, distributed, cleaned the floors of the recording studio the day this track was recorded. The Janitor is important too, he/she prevented Etta & others from slipping or falling. Cleanliness is next to Godliness. Thankies to Jesus & God for flowing through everyone that day while this track was being made. Man of Steel I am a white person, and i think that ther not much artists these day`s that can come to the level Miss Etta did. I think she is one of the best singers everrrr. If she was black or white i do not care, her voice will not be easely copied. Peace. Ps Try to not make a racist thing out of everything just enjoy this musical art. thnx

I love you daddy...I know I may sound cheezy but that's how I feel 😇

noemisteaphanie93 ... there are some amazing very young singers, who remind us to the better days of Jazz musicians like Grace Vanderwaal (US), Angelina Jordan (Norway) and Krisia Todorowa (Bulgaria). Born in 1963 I was a big fan of The Doors, then switched to Rachmaninow and old tunes of Lena Horne and Screamin' Jay ... but the last ten years I was searchin' in vain ... until Grace won AGT ... just listen to her Adele version "One and only" and her original "Lungs".

Lyrics At last My love has come along My lonely days are over And life is like a song Oh, yeah, yeah, at last The skies above are blue My heart was wrapped up in clover The night I looked at you And I found a dream that I could speak to A dream that I can call my own I found a thrill to press my cheek to A thrill that I have never known Oh, yeah, yeah, and you smile, you smile Oh, and then the spell was cast And here we are in Heaven For you are mine at last

RAMONA HAYGOOD. 1961 at fort Sam Houston. An 18 year old white boy from Chicago. I would go to an outdoor snack bar and get a chili dog and there was an outdoor jukebox as well. While I ate my chili dog, I listened to etta James , had a second chili dog and listened to her again. When I would go, most of the time nobody was around. It was just me, etta and the young black girl taking care of the place. I am sure she wondered what it all about!
