Well... this was both... _eye-opening and incredibly _*_ominous._* While we certainly still don't know what Tikal's exact end-game here is, we now know beyond a doubt that the name of this dangerous game is going to be her hunting down the rest of the playable cast and using her 'soul capture' mechanic on them. In any case, I also noticed a few details of note: -IDK if this is significant or not, but I couldn't help but notice that at the screen of the Chaos Emeralds at 8:46, the light blue one is replaced with an _orange_ one. IDK if this means anything or not, but it was something that caught my eye with who the overarching threat in this series is. -the 'transfer' screen featuring NiGHTS and Sonic reminds me a bit of the Stop N Swop mechanic from Banjo-Kazooie, particularly the apparent details that the Stop N Swop mechanic was supposed to work with Donkey Kong 64 as well. -the very end of the vid with both Knuckles _and_ Eggman's portraits getting crossed out seems to indicate that despite things cutting off with the demo ending, Tikal still managed to capture Eggman's soul despite, like what another commentor said in the Eggman Adventure Mode vid, the player seeming to notice Tikal's presence in the Adventure Field and subsequently trying to end the Emerald Hunting stage quickly to end the demo avoid her. I initially thought that maybe his speedy gameplay saved Eggman with how his bio in the manual screenshot didn't have any red-bolded text that indicated *something* happened to him, but I guess not... -Finally, we know that Tikal capturing Knuckles' soul allowed her to leave the forest ruins and wander the rest of the greater adventure field, but with how so far, we've _only_ seen her lurking in the adventure field, it makes me wonder whether or not she can follow the characters into the action stages as well. I'd have to assume so with how Hidden Character had Tikal enter Final Egg, but again, it's hard to say, especially with how we don't know whether or not her capturing Eggman and any other character's souls will increase her abilities/capabilities or not. -11:00 has me a bit worried that Tikal's planning to target Tails next. (Also, why do I get this... ungodly sinking sense Big's gonna be the final survivor/last target? _Also_ also, I like how her feet are blurry when jumping. Reinforces her otherwordly and unsettling presence in this series in my eyes) -8:46 Assuming my previous paranoid theories aren't true, the fact that there's a 'Sonic got a chaos emerald' screen straight from the 2D games makes me wonder if the cast's salvation here is going to be Super Sonic/getting all the Chaos Emeralds before Tikal hunts them all down, and whether this beta/Saturn version of SA1 was going to have collecting the Chaos Emeralds as a gameplay mechanic rather than a plot device. That's all I can say/theorize for certain now. Still no clue if the story/overarching mystery here is just limited to the confines of the game or going to extend into the real world, but either way, this I am _thoroughly_ engrossed by this series and ominous, overarching plot. *EDIT:* Also, given that the 'scrapped easter egg' vid is a part of this playlist, it's making me wonder whether or not Terios/Shadow will end up playing a role in this down the line.

Good observations! For the record, before Adventure established a bunch of lore, there was some confusion over how many emeralds and what colors there were _(Sonic the Fighters had 8 instead of 7, and one was orange),_ so it might just be a reference to that. Still interesting to note, tho. (And I love how everyone theorizing is torn between the last man standing/our only hope being Super Sonic... Or Big. With no in between. It's funny to me.)

I'm really loving this ARG so far and how up-front it's being with its plot without over-explaining anything. We know what Tikal is doing but we still have no idea what her goals are or what she is (the latter of which I think is better unexplained). As for her motive, I predict that she just wants to leave the game. Not in a "I'm going to kill everyone" way, but in a "I want to live in the real world" way. She doesn't taunt the player or go out of her way to spook them, she's expressly focused on getting a job done. I love that.

I want to think that this image from 1:54 represents that like Sonic.exe, they are souls trapped inside the characters from the beta of Sonic Adventure. -Night representing the humans (us) -The angel character representing the souls and Sonic representing the cast, and this also is managed because of the phrase "transfer" on top. Who was responsible? obluisly Tikal.

That’s an actual unused character that was originally planned to be in SA1. You can see them on some of the billboards in Speed Highway At Dawn (Knuckles’ level/the last section of the Sonic version) We only know them as “Spider Girl” which is not even an official name given to them as far as I’m aware!

I actually really like the attention to detail the series has so far regarding the gameplay parts. Is this prototype meant to be running on the Saturn (in universe lore wise) or be a direct clean port of the latest Saturn version snapshot/build to the Katana? (Sega Dreamcast devkit)

I’d say it’s closer to the second thing! It’s inspired by early Sonic Adventure footage/images that show Sonic and Tails using jam models on the tornado stages. The idea is to see what the game would be like if it had kept that direction, with a few of my own twists. As for the Reel Fishing games, I actually have played quite a lot of the first and second entries! And I’ve listened to the soundtracks of later titles as well. I love the series a lot despite its obscurity and felt the music fit the general vibe I’m going for with these videos

Hey, sorry to bother you, but would you mind sharing your ntscQT preset please? Or do you just select one of the default ones? I would love to achieve the same look you've got here. As for audio, I know you have to do that outside of ntscQT, so any tips on that? Yours is very authentic sounding, and I am just wondering how you managed it? Just following one of the many Audacity guides on here, or something a little more specific? Hope to hear back from you, as I love these videos and would love to make some content like it for Clockwork Knight.

I actually stopped using it with this video, and have since upgraded to ntsc-rs! But my typical preset for ntscQT was the default options. My personal favorite was Master Nama and yobelkcip. As for the sound, I’d definitely recommend looking up tutorials for audacity and using the AM Radio preset for starters. I tinker around with it a lot myself to get it sounding good. Pitch shift works well

I'm not so sure but correct me if I am wrong but I believe that Eggman was the original name in Japan, but once the game arrived in the U.S they gave him the name Robotnik (or just used that name much more than Eggman)

Not real, but my idea behind that is basically that you would’ve been able to transfer your nightopians to Sonic Adventure to take care of them similar to how the chao work in that game. But they basically were replaced with the chao later in development (again, just my narrative and not something that actually happened as far as I’m aware)

I think in the narrative of this video series, the developers planned for Eggman (and the Metal trio) to be playable instead of making Gamma. Concept art for Gamma (the eggrobo-looking guy) does show up in this slideshow.
