I have a few questions; do you offer the same activities every day for the week? How do you handle (redirect) challenging behavior? I have been teaching Waddlers for a few years now and just this year I noticed a bout of challenging behavior I haven't seen before. We stated the beginning of the year study again for a refresh on safety. Any comments or ideas are appreciated. Watching your videos has helped me so much already. Thank you.

Hi Marian! The centers usually stay the same all week, but if I see something just isn't holding their interest, I will tweak things a bit. I do change out some of the table activities (puzzles and manipulatives.) As for behavior, I take ideas from Love and Logic and do a lot of redirecting and natural consequences. I try to catch behavior issues as they are just starting so that I can step in and help the child. There are quite a few reasons why behavior issues occur so I am always observing and taking note of what has taken place before the behavior escalated. This past month I've noticed some new behavior issues develop so I've been simplifying our activities and circle times and providing more large motor time.
