Prescription Drug Monitoring Program - Shortened Version

The state of Maryland passed legislation to establish a PDMP in 2011. The goal of the PDMP is to assist healthcare providers and public health and safety authorities with reducing the non-medical use, abuse and diversion of prescription drugs while preserving legitimate professional practice and patient access to optimal pharmaceutical-assisted care. The program is overseen by the Department of Health and Mental Hygiene (DHMH), Alcohol and Drug Abuse Administration (ADAA).
