I read your book Present Over Perfect years ago and it touched me so deeply. Years later, 3 babies and attempting to work 2 jobs while at home with the kids I hit a wall today. One that I’ve felt coming for a while. I was guided by God to search Present over perfect on Yoube and I’m just so grateful for this video you’ve shared with us. I know it will be a long, hard process to do the work to undo all that I’ve committed to these past years but starting again from the inside out is exactly where I need to be. Thank you🙏🏼✨

"Bear one another's burdens and so fulfill the law of Christ". An inaccurate interpretation of this scripture to be all things to all men all the time is what trapped me for years. This message is extremely timely. I think more Christian women than not need this word. I am an academic so your push for productivity resonates with me however I agree with you that this issue is not profession-specific and permeates the stay-at-home mom occupations too. In fact, I often feel that women at home are sometimes more worn out than those working outside of the home because there are no clock in and out times for them and family and church expectations of these ladies are inordinately high. I guess this may be a culmination of years of faulty interpretation regarding what society and God expect of christian women...the story of the talents also comes to mind...Michael Todd so eloquently explained that it is not about fulfilling your potential ...Jesus had the potential to do far more than he did...but instead of fulfilling his potential, He fulfilled His purpose!! This I guess is where we have had it wrong for years. Father help us to walk only in purpose! Do only what you hear the Father say do...
