M-H Lopez is an outstanding example of what has continuously, and still continues, to plague the United Nations. Staff Rule 104.10 clearly states the UN's position against nepotism. Yet her arrival into the UN system as an Administrative Assistant at WFP in 1985 contravened this very rule. Her father, Armando Duque Gonzalez, served as a UN staff member from 1958-1993, and subsequently Director of Staff (ie. Head of HR), and later Director of Administrative Services at the UN in Geneva. What this essentially means is that MHL distorted the truth in filling out all versions of her Personal History Form (ie. her CV) during her "impressive" career within the UN system of Organizations. Stating untruths on her CV, and continuing to do so in all subsequent PHPs, should have resulted in immediate dismissal from the Organization.
